GM 47: Rush vs Warriors

Both of teams ought to be feeling pretty good about themselves heading into the playoffs, having played a hard fought game today. Even taking the wildly successful Yukon Rush to overtime is impressive, as they boast a 26-2-2 record at the conclusion of the regular season. Brandon Petan Jr struck first with a goal late in the first period but the Warriors kept on the attack and hit back midway through the second with a pair of goals from Inker Belle and Nicklas Pinkstrom. Bret Weier, tournament leader in goals would tie the game just 10 seconds after Pinkstrom put the Warriors ahead. He would also eventually prove to be the OT hero less than 4 minutes in off a sweet pass from Carl Erhardt. Both goalies put in good performances with Bartholomew Lorequavius saving 25 of 27 and Spider Panda saving 36 of 39 for the Rush and Warriors respectively. Despite the losing effort, Inker Belle was able to claim first star for their goal and assist as well as the dominant game they had in terms of shots and hits.
