Houston Rookies

In my first year as Houston’s general manager I drafted three rookies. Unfortunately, one of them went inactive, but I would love to talk about how well the other two are doing!

Alex LeBlanc @Psanchez55
I was lucky enough to draft two players who had signed with Houston as undrafted free agents. Alex was the first. Alex has been a great earner and an even better player! He hit a couple bumps in the road, but I’m glad he’s stuck with me. I know getting a new GM can be hard and I’ve been doing my best, so I really appreciate your understanding. As Alex LeBlanc was a homegrown talent, it felt extra good to draft him back to Houston. In his first season with Houston, Alex recorded a whopping 64 points! Those points came off of 16 goals and 48 assists. So far this year he has 31 points coming from 9 goals and 22 assists. His point production may have dropped a bit this year, but being Houston’s premier defender meant he had to play a slightly more stay at home role. His intangibles have been great and he’s helped some of the younger defensemen on the team grow up to their potential as well. Sadly, Alex will be moving up to the VHLE next season and Houston is going to miss his contributions dearly. I am sure you’re going to kill it on the Rome Gladiators who will love to add a third defenseman to the mix. Good luck in the VHLE and good luck on your future VHL team as well!

Feka Ohi Kau @Hacob
Another wonderful homegrown player I was able to secure in my first draft as a VHLM general manager. Feka Ohi Kau has had a fun career thus far, and has shown up for his team when they needed him most. I know I can’t replace @AJW, but you were also very kind to me when I took over Houston. I really do appreciate it, and I appreciate your time here as well. During his first season in Houston, his stats were a little rough, only notching two assists. However, this year he has been a blessing to the team, putting up 9 goals and 34 assists for a combined total of 43 points. I promised Kau at the beginning of the season that I would trade him to a solid contender at the trade deadline, and I plan to honor that promise. I appreciate you working with the struggles of a first year GM, and I wish you well when you leave us. You’re going to continue to kill it for the rest of the year and  hopefully you’ll get a cup win as well! During this offseason you will be getting drafted to your VHLE and VHL teams and I know you will be a great player for those teams as well. No GMs need to inquire about Kau as he really wants what’s best for the team and the league.

Overall, these two rookies and first gens were amazing for Houston and they will be amazing where ever they end up in the future!
