whats free agency like

I need some opinions on what free agency is like. I've been in this league for like 30 seasons and have never experienced free agency. Not saying I want to leave LA or anything because that team is rocking but what is FA like. Are teams in my dms begging or is that considered tampering. I want people offering to send me 30$ through paypal in free agency. Teams should be desperate for the phantom of the vhl I am a stud! Next season I promise I will hit 90 in my contract year then I will DEMAND a 8x14 from LA and then hear offers. Maybe a team like Prague will offer to retire my number immediately, they should. Anyone watching the NHL preseason right now? I'm not joking the sabres have scored 4 goals during the time I've been writing this. Is this my future as a penguins fan? Anyways the LA stars are going to start scoring 4 goals in 4 minutes every single night and I will score every single one of them with 2 assists as well.

Once discussions are open the floodgates are open and all is legal. Before that it would be tampering for any team but the one that owns your rights.

In my experience: less fun than you think it will be. Like the freedom to choose is nice but it comes at the cost of having multiple teams that all have very good arguments and knowing that you are going to have to disappoint all but 1 of them.

I've almost gone to FA multiple times with McFleury, always ended up doing a sign and trade. Really want to just jump around teams via FA with my current player, just to try something different.
