After an intense seven-game series with Toronto, the Riga Reign have won the Continental Cup - their first since S72.

The Reign finished the regular season in third place overall with a 50-18-4 record. Breakout seasons from Shubham Anand (54 goals, 107 points) and Lucy Leitner (18 goals, 86 points), combined with strong seasons from established stars Axle Gunner (44 goals, 102 points) and Skor McFleury (15 goals, 82 points) helped them to a strong regular season. The Reign then put together a strong playoff run by sweeping Malmo aside 4-0, beating Davos 4-2 to get to the finals, and then emerged victorious in a thrilling 7-game series against the Toronto Legion to take the title.

Gunner and Anand were dominant again in the playoffs, and young winger Kimi Raikkonen was fantastic with 26 points in 17 games himself. The Reign jumped out to a 3-1 series lead before an extremely talented Toronto squad battled back to force a decisive game. In Game 7, however, Riga left little doubt by leading 48-27 in shots and winning the game 5-2. Congratulations to Riga on taking home the VHL's ultimate prize!
