REVEALED: World Peace Jr fumbled his summer regimen, had to get in shape

Recommended Posts

It took some time for Ron World Peace Jr to really arrive in San Diego. After he left a solid first impression (2 points, 17 hits, 9 shots blocked in 14 games) as a late waiver pickup with the Mississauga Hounds last season, the San Diego Marlins subsequently selected him 19th overall in the S96 VHLM Draft. Because of the outstanding depth San Diego had assembled for the defensemen position, World Peace rarely saw any ice time as he began his tenure with the Marlins.

Down on the fourth line, he had to fight for every minute to come his way - but it was also a circumstance that he had personally accounted for. When World Peace arrived the Marlins training camp, he was way out of shape and had tremendous cardio problems. "It was my own wrongdoing," he later revealed once he had fought back his way into the third line. "I got here having taken the summer completely off, and it showed. I just wasn't in game shape at all. The coaches rightfully dealt with it."
