Jacob Stone at his best as career on the verge of ending

Recommended Posts

Jacob Stone has been on a tear for Malmo in the playoffs, but the Nighthawks are one loss from elimination. Down 1-3 to the Moscow Menace, another loss would spell the end of Stone's Nighthawk career. He is doing all he can to extend it, with four goals, five assists, 19 hits, 8 shots blocked, and a +1 rating. Including the round one series against Warsaw, he has six goals and ten assists in seven playoff games. He has been a picture of consistency for the Nighthawks, having a seven-game point streak, including six multi-point games. Along with Stone, fellow Nighthawk veterans Savaisk Tzesar and Viktor Jensen have been having an excellent post-season. Tzesar leads the playoffs with 17 points, and Jensen is tied with Stone with six goals.

While Tzesar and Jensen will have another season left in their careers, Stone is playing his last hockey with the Nighthawks. He has spent nine seasons with the team, setting several franchise records. The end of his time with Malmo won't quite spell the end of his hockey career, as he will have one last World Cup tournament to play in with Team USA. He has two silver medals, and will be seeking Team USA's first gold medal since Season 78.
