It is a fairly basic photo that you changed to make it fit with the theme of the league. A very good start and you did a good job with what you did. It is all about doing many graphics and trying new ways to do things. It is a fun journey and it looks like you have the skill to progress rather fast. I like the logo swap, well done. The team logo in the upper corner looks like it fits but I question if it was really needed. The text is unique with the blurred backing, but looks fine. I would say that the NHL logo on the collar should go and replaced with the league badge. It's all about baby steps.
