Smarch 3,210
Roster Turnover After winning the Continental Cup on December 5th, 2024, the Vancouver Wolves roster is already taking shape for season ninety-seven. With three retirements this offseason in Liv Slater, Rip Wheeler and trade deadline pick up Olober Syko, we knew the Wolves roster would look different in season ninety-seven. What we didn’t know is that some roster players would also be shipped off early in the offseason to deal with the VHL cap crunch. The Wolves have made four trades this offseason already, with one trade meeting the condition with Warsaw that brough Syko over. The first trade saw the Wolves send King Kisslinger to the Seattle Bears in exchange for a season ninety-eight Seattle first round pick and centerman Eno Velvson. The Seattle first was quickly traded to Warsaw the same day to meet the conditions of the Syko trade after the continental cup win. A day later the Wolves made a trade with Prague that say the Wolves sent Erik Thorvaldssson and a season ninety-nine Vancouver second round pick in exchange for a season ninety-nine Prague first and a season ninety-seven Las Angeles second. The final trade for the Wolves came on December 9th, 2024, which saw the Wolves acquire Einar Mathiesen, Scrungle Bungle and a season ninety-eight D.C. Dragons third round pick in exchange for a season ninety-nine Vancouver first and season ninety-seven second round picks. Now with only five forwards on the roster, there is a good chance the Wolves will make another trade closer to the trade deadline this season, but with 2.5 million in cap space maybe the Wolves are done with all their trades until next off-season. Not likely!! LOL!! 2.5M means a 5M player at the trade deadline under the current rules so leaves a ton of options if we are not able to add another forward before the start of the season. We would like a full roster at the start of the season though but won`t force a move.
