Callum was called by @Grape to represent Team Western Europe to the S96 WCoH, together with his auntie Catià and his cousin Maverick Gonçalves. Of course he made the trip with his girlfriend Eilidh.

 

Mav was not shy to make remarks in Swiss German to that fact:

 

'Hey Cal. Wie hesches? Stimmt das, d'Eilidh und du sind jetzt zämme?'

'Hoi Mav, Bom dia tia Catià. Yes, Eilidh and I are a couple now.'

'Und wer het de erschti Schritt gmacht. Sie oder du?'

'Eilidh made the first move, Mav.'

'Dammi nomol, das choschtet mich en lappe. Nimmt din père au schecks?'

'Yeah, my dad already told me that you owe him a Franklin now. And no, he only accepts cash, cuz.'

'Okay. Let's talk about something else then. It is my first time on the big stage. Is there anything I need to consider?'

'Nah, not really. It is still hockey after all. And since we already compete against the best in our day-to-day job, not much changes. The tactics may differ from what we play in our franchises and of course you will have other line mates. Having said that, you play with tia Catià already in Moscow, so maybe they will put you together in one line.' 

'What do you think of the squad? Do we have a chance to get gold?'

'Well, you always have a chance, but I think the goal tending might be on the weaker side compared to our competitors. So we need to intercept as many attempts as possible and outscore our opponents. That will be very demanding. But everything worth achieving has some obstacles to overcome. We will see. As long as we give our all, we can walk away with our heads held high, as it is an honour to be invited to a WCoH in the first place.'
