The Last Stretch

George Richmond has finally settled into his game with the New York Americans and we're only 45 games into the season. Richmond after being traded from the Moscow Menace to New York struggled early on in the season, not really performing at the level he could, however, he's finally started to find his game. Richmond currently has 64 points this season, leading his team in that department. On top of that, he's finally reached the 30 goal mark and is on pace for 48 goals, which would be a career high for Richmond. He's only reached the 40 goal mark once in his career and that was with Moscow, so being able to reach it with two teams would be very impressive. Richmond leads the team in goals, assists, and points showing he is the complete package for the Americans on offense. Defensively, he has fairly good numbers as well, with being second in hits on the team, and 32 shot blocks, the second most out of any forward on the team. He's putting up numbers offensive and defensively and doing his best to will this New York Americans team to the playoffs, as they currently sit just one point out with 27 games left. There is a lot of time remaining this season, but the Americans want to continue their winning ways, as they are on a four game win streak currently. Richmond had this to say about the team's performance this season so far, "I think we've played alright this season. The North American Conference is not easy, with multiple teams trying to slide into the playoffs, it's for sure difficult for us day in and day out. Besides LA, it seems like every team is not an easy win and you have to come to play, otherwise you will lose. As for myself, I've been trying to level up my game and adapt to the system that New York plays. I think without a doubt that the Americans run a more defensive styled game than Moscow, the old team I was on, so I've been trying to adapt. I have been doing well so far, but I think I can provide a bit more to the team and help us get huge wins which could slide us into the playoffs. Anyone knows the second you make the playoffs, records don't matter as anything can happen. I will do my best to continue to perform and provide that extra jump that the team needs." One thing is for certain though, the NA playoffs will come down to the last day of the regular season. With Seattle, Toronto, Chicago, and New York all attempting to secure a playoff spot, it won't be easy as one of these teams will be left out. Trade Deadline Day will be another thing to keep an eye on, as there are key teams in the race that could add to their roster to attempt to make an extra push to make the playoffs. Regardless, it's going to be a fantastic finish and one that the Americans hope to be on the positive side of.

Review:

There is a reason Richmond was selected swing overall in the season ninety-two draft. I’m glad your season has progressed after a rough start, even thirty goals in nothing to laugh at in a VHL season. Hope you can get over forty again for the second straight season.

Good article with stats about your season, current playoff picture for the Americans and a in article interview with yourself. Beauty graphic to begin the piece as well.

9/10 only cause on my phone at least it was a one big paragraph.
