1. I played with @FiZi at Miami - solid player and plays the game the right way. Good pickup!
2. I'm happy to help support the team to play winning hockey. I look at my +/- as much as my points. I want to play in all situations and do whatever it takes to win. Prague seems poised to take a deep run in a season or two. Looking forward to that!
3. This upcoming season, I've started slow but I'm definitely glancing at the rookie race. I'm slow and steady and while I like being in the ROY consideration, I just want to win games. 
4. Glancing at the colors and logos and mascot - I think it would be the Philadelpha Reapers - you get reaped and then you become a Phantom! colors and the text have some very SMALL tie ins
5. Oh man, I am excited to be in the VHL and can see how my game plays with the best
6. The Surge in Carolina is cool. Something about Phantoms flying away would be cool. Like we all go to the center of the ice and then skate fast away in all directions (like we're scattering). As long as there are no TV camera cables on the ice that would be cool.

1.) Happy St. Patrick's Day, anyone celebrating the occasion or is this one of the holidays you pass on?

 

2.) Obviously Prague is struggling a bit, not even currently in a Wild Card spot, what's the panic level on this team in your opinion?

 

3.) What area of the team are you looking to see GM @Tetricide improve if any? Do you want to see trades or just simple line changes?

 

4.) Recently, Warsaw lost a game 9-0 in which they only took 8 shots total (zero in the 3rd period). If you were a fan of the team at the arena, how early do you leave, and do some of you possessions get thrown on the ice to show your displeasure?

5.) How do you feel about @Mutti Ondrej Vencko 's stellar SV% and effort for the team so far?

Happy St Patty's Day! I don't typically celebrate in any way. It's not particularly a holiday that really holds any significance to me, so I will leave the celebrating to those that do or just want to have a few good brewskis.

We've got some new additions, rookies, and even a position change.. So I think we're still trying to find our footing within synergy. It's only the start of the season and have yet to see the full potential of the team.

 

3.) What area of the team are you looking to see the GM improve if any? Do you want to see trades or just simple line changes?

Hmm...our scoring seems to be lacking still and it would be nice to have another linemate to rely on to either pass to or receive one to get one into the back of the net. Whatever our 1st line ends up being needs to really step up their game as there are some pretty high expectations when playing on it.

 

4.) Recently, Warsaw lost a game 9-0 in which they only took 8 shots total (zero in the 3rd period). If you were a fan of the team at the arena, how early do you leave, and do some of you possessions get thrown on the ice to show your displeasure?

I'm not even sure I'd buy a ticket to go watch a game... At this point, I might just go watch another team to see them most likely win so I know what it feels like.

5.) How do you feel about Ondrej Vencko 's stellar SV% and effort for the team so far?

Vencko is a stud between the pipes. Which is incredible considering how much alcohol is probably coursing through his body before a game. Though, that may also be a contributing factor to some of the goals against that shouldn't have gone through in the first place...

 

6.) What rookie do you feel is shining the most so far between Luc Moreau, Brigitta Sandstrom, or Filip Zinek?

This is a pretty tough question to comfortably answer knowing each may see this.

Moreau - I think may have been feeling some pressure on the 1st line which is totally understandable. There have been some line changes since then and I'm excited to see him perform much better as we progress in the season. He does have a good +/- rating at 9, so it's good to have him on the ice in general as point production is increased with his presence.

Sandstrom - Has been keeping pace with Leitner on shots blocked, but the points game is just not there. She also has a decent +/- rating at 6. I think she's doing great things on the defensive end and her potential as a brick wall for a shut down defender is practically unlimited.

Zinek - Is probably my pick at the current moment. Despite the -2 rating, he's leading our rookies at 6 points -- 5 of which are goals and has the best shooting percentage on the team at 23.81%. This may be coming from a more rested player that is not getting as many minutes as the top liners, but the accuracy is incredible and the future is bright for him as he progresses in his career at the pro level.

- Thanks, I don't really celebrate it, though. It doesn't have any tradition in the Czech Republic whatsoever. And when it comes to drinking, we do that during every holiday.. Well, even during regular days.. We drink.

- I mean.. Are we? Sure, we may have tripped on the stairway to greatness but.. We haven't fallen down, now have we? I think we're gonna get our shit together soon. And panic level?

I signed a contract for next three seasons. There is no time for panic. I am going for a cup with these crazy maggots.

 3.) What area of the team are you looking to see GM @Tetricide improve if any? Do you want to see trades or just simple line changes?

- I don't know anything about trading, I suck at that. And all of our guys are great, I love their game. But Tet has a room for improvement. Hey, @Tetricide, we need to teach you how to drink. I have a drinking game for you.

.. Ever been to a "forest" before? (I am sure Filip Zinek @FiZi knows what I mean.)

- I never leave before the final siren. No matter if my team is winning or losing. I have a huge respect for my favourite team and leaving earlier would be so fucking disrespectful.. Even with management issues like.. It's not a fault of those guys on the ice.

 

And throwing things on the ice is just stupid. Anyone who does it is an asshole and I don't care what reason do they have.

- Oh, damn.. I wasn't expecting such question.. Ummm.. I'll leave this one for others to answer, if I may.

6.) What rookie do you feel is shining the most so far between @minman Lucy Moreau, @Acydburn Brigitta Sandstrom, or @FiZi Filip Zinek?

- Fuuh.. Tough to decide.
Of course point-wise, Brigitta is the best. But locker-room-presence-wise, I would say that Luc is shining like a second Sun. And of course, Filip has bonus points for being a fellow drunk (read: Czech). Haha!

I dunno.. I love them all. I love their game and they are wonderful people!

It's still very early. It isn't like we are out of contention. I trust Tet, so I'm not worried at all.

I don't think we need trades. We've got a good team, we just need to focus in on the special teams.

No fan ever likes to see that. I would hope I wasn't sitting in seats that were very expensive. I'd probably leave early into the third because it looks like they pretty much gave up at that point.

5.) How do you feel about @Mutti Ondrej Vencko 's stellar SV% and effort for the team so far?

I'm really happy with what Vencko has done so far. As a team, we've got to be better in front of him so he doesn't have to make so many saves. He's averaging more than 30 saves a game.

 

6.) What rookie do you feel is shining the most so far between @minman Lucy Moreau, @Acydburn Brigitta Sandstrom, or @FiZi Filip Zinek?

Stats wise, Sandstorm is killing it. 14 points in 16 games and leading the team in shots blocked. They're all doing great overall though.

1. My boys like Corned Beef and my wife makes it on St Patricks Day. Not much else is tradition.
2. I think we've played a bunch of the top teams and are still getting used to each other. @Tetricide still trying to figure out how to turn the knobs on this team, as long as he's not head shotting people.
3. I think we try the line changes / strategies. I think we're still early in the rebuild and wouldn't want to trade away good assets.
4. I stayed for all the 2023-2024 Sharks games that i went to. That was pretty painful but I stayed until the final horn. Historically bad team.
5. @Mutti is doing great. We're just taking too many penalties and we can't keep up a perfect penalty kill. Like above, we're still working it out.
6. I wouldn't pick myself as I think @Acydburn Brigitta Sandstrom is doing great. 17 points and a +11. Rock Solid. I'm excited to have someone to try to meet their success - will make for a better team!

1.) What's poppin', Prague?! We've had a pretty rough season trying to find our footing in the league, falling hard in the standings. The last day of sims seemed to show some improvement as far as our lines and synergy goes. Are things starting to look up...or grim for the Phantoms?

 

2.) Next week is theme week! Are you ready for some free uncapped TPE?  Or are you even going to participate...?

 

3.) What is your take on players/members threatening their GM with retirement if they get traded to another team despite not having an NTC in their current contract?

 

4.) Does your player have an epic beard or mustache? Or just long, voluminous hair? ...Or wavy? Curly? What's their style?

 

5.) Does your family have a tradition outside of the usual holidays that they celebrate every year?

 

6.) If you had the time, supplies, and will to paint your bedroom walls...what color would you go with? Feel free to toss the hex code in for your answer if that helps define it!

1. We just need to figure out the magic to tell Simon. I think we have the players across the board. @Tetricide has built an up and coming team - I have faith that he'll figure it out. Last few days, we had some big titans - I mean Toronto has been a beast and we've played them a few times. We'll get there - team is gelling.
2. Theme week - for sure! 
3. I think it's ridiculous BUT I think in real life, the rules are enforced because that's how people put food on the table/buy their lambos. This is supposed to be fun. I do think this is enough of a possibility that the league should figure out rules (though then people will want to bend them). Reading the discussion I've seen, it seems people tried to help the player continue to be engaged, and even then, it was still NOT enough. 
4. No facial hair - just a baby assassin. But the hair is long and wavy
5. We try to do a weekly celebration for birthdays - not just on that day. 
6. My office walls are "sage" - it's a nice soothing color. Just a hint of green, nature but not strong.

I don't really get this. I've been traded twice in four seasons. Sometimes it's to trade away a player who's not earning to a team that might be able to get them to earn. Sometimes it's to rebuild. Sometimes it's to give a player more opportunities. In the end, it doesn't really matter because this is a game.

 

4.) Does your player have an epic beard or mustache? Or just long, voluminous hair? ...Or wavy? Curly? What's their style?

Not at all. Clean shaven, generic haircut.

 

5.) Does your family have a tradition outside of the usual holidays that they celebrate every year?

Not a holiday, but we always get family photos. Twice a year for the kids' birthdays, and sometimes another time just for fun.

We painted our room a few years ago a something similar to #4ebdb5. I've realized that I hate painting rooms and will get someone to do it for me next time.

Finally, some fresh ideas that will be used! I do like the "tough guy" theme as it definitely leaves it open on how creative someone can get!

About tree fiddy. Uhh...idk anything can happen between now and then as far as acquiring picks go. I feel like the cream of the crop may actually be in the 2nd round...

Incredible to see one of our rookies on the ballot, and then two off-season acquisitions! All very good selections at the end of the day and I hope this ups their morale and confidence as they play more on the ice.

 

5.) What's your favorite part of any All-Star Weekend?

Ugh...when it ends... Give me that 4 Nations Tournament any time! I think it would be neat to maybe have something like that here in the VHL...outside of the World Cup.

 

6.) How will we do in the back half of this season?

We're gaining some really good momentum, and I think it will continue to grow as we progress towards the end of the season. Really hoping to prove ourselves better in the playoffs even if it's just a Wild Card slot!

1. I think we're getting some momentum yesterday. @Tetricide figuring out the right strategies and combos, we'll get there into the playoffs. 
2. I like the community suggestions because can't always think you can come up with the best ideas.
3. I don't know how many S100, I wonder how many will come back but not necessarily stick around. Or are they going to reconnect with "oh yeah that was fun but I got burned out"
4. They are doing amazing! They all deserve the win.
5. Fastest speed - everything else seems contrived.
6. I think we will keep fighting London for that #5 spot but I believe we'll prevail

No real opinion here. I am indifferent about theme week. It does help to get some different types of PT out there though.

A lot. I think S100 is going to be a big season and will shake up the league.

I am honoured to be a part of it. I think we all deserve a chance to represent our team.

Seeing the personality of all the players and what it would be like if they played together.

I think we're on the up and up. Lots of adjustments have been made and now we're ready to excel.
