Del Rocco misses out on two Seattle championships

The Seattle Bears 2nd overall pick from S93 has managed to miss out on Seattle's Continental Cup wins from both S93 and S97, having spent 3 seasons with the Bears in between. Such is life sometimes, as Gianfranco Del Rocco spent an extra season in the VHLE while Seattle made a surprise mid-season championship run in S93, before accepting a trade to Davos before S97 after a slow start to his career and limited playoff success in S94-S96.

“It's a bit annoying of course, but that was always the risk when you leave a Seattle team managed by Bana [Blake Campbell]. I think he did this to spite my agent for Rara Rasputin leaving him in free agency all those seasons back,” laughs Del Rocco. “Joking of course, I think I was just in the way of his desire to never win a championship again with a Hall of Famer on the team.”

“No but really this was something we discussed when we decided to part ways last off-season. I think things just didn't mesh for me in Seattle and I don't think I'd have been a cup champion right now if I had stayed. It would have had to be a different roster due to my contract, so weaker in other areas, different line chemistry. I feel better closer to home here in Davos and it's probably just a move that worked best for everyone involved. I've no hard feelings and am happy for my old teammates, especially the guys that had to wait a long time for a cup like Holmes @Gustav and White @Mysterious_Fish. My time will come I'm sure.”
