There have been many bone crunching, hard hitting, absolute goons in the VHL, hell there are some players playing right now who are a nightmare for any other team to play against. But today I’m going to look back on my own players and see which Kisslinger was the toughest of them all. The three Kisslinger’s that have played here in the VHL are Zachariah Kisslinger of the Prague Phantoms, One of the greatest Warsaw players of all time Zach Kisslinger II and of course my latest and last Kisslinger, the King. All of these players were totally different on the ice but the one question remains… Who was the toughest Kisslinger of them all.

Zachariah Kisslinger was my first player in the VHL, WAYYYY back in season 73, which I believe was 2020. Zachariah Kisslinger was a Prague lifer and he was a stay at home defensive defensemen. In 288 games, Zachariah had 483 hits, 407 penalty minutes and 572 blocked shots. Zachariah had an average of 1.68 hits per game during his 4 seasons, 1.41 penalties per game and 1.99 shot blocks per game. I know Zachariah only played 4 seasons but he was willing to sacrifice the body for hits and shot blocks at a decent rate. Zachariah was definitely someone to make a physical play, as he wasn’t very good at anything else.

Zach Kisslinger II, the player i had my very first little bit of success with. He was a superstar in Warsaw and the captain of the franchise, he has the most points in franchise history, but how much of a tough guy is he? In 576 games played, Zach had 1766 hits, 320 shot blocks and 715 penalty minutes. The math shows that Zach had 3.07 hits per game, 0.56 shot blocks and  1.2 penalties per game. Zach was definitely the more physical of the two, i would say that the body checks makes him tougher than Zachariah, due to the fact of that Zach had played 288 more games and managed to almost double Zachariah’s hits per game as a superstar forward.

Last but not least, the King. King Kisslinger was a treat because i got to experience a whole lot more on this player. In 555 games the King has 1085 hits, 197 shot blocks and 495 penalty minutes. That equals out to 1.95 hits per game, 0.36 shot blocks and 0.89 penalty minutes. The King was the most disciplined of the three, the second most physical but the worst shot blocker of the three. He was more of a complete player than any of them.

Judging by the small stats i looked over, i would say Zach Kisslinger II was the most physical and most “tough” of the three Kisslinger’s. With Zachariah Kisslinger being the second toughest and the King being the least tough. Kisslinger II was probably the most offensively skilled as well making he a dynamic weapon of both sides of the ice. I can’t wait to see if Igor Sokolov can beat the Kisslinger’s stats and toughness.
