CGY Janser visiting Calgary

After a disappointingly clear out in the conference finals against the Wranglers, Callum decided to stay in the city to which he has so many ties. Not the least of which is his dad's Jersey hanging from the rafters in the Saddledome.

As it happens, it was the Stampede anyway and his sister would certainly be present. Niamh is an accomplished Western Rider and also participates in the rodeos. She is specialized in wrangling cattle, not necessarily breaking horses.

So Eilidh took a flight to join her boyfriend in Calgary, and see what fun is to be had in the city the Swiss defender grew up in.

Of course there is a lot of animal to be looked at and Hannibal, the couple's trusty American Stafford tried to make friends with beeves and horses alike, with mixed success.

Food stands and other fun fare attractions are omnipresent, and the trifecta indulged in some of the specialties for sale.

'How you like them steaks, hun?' Callum asks his girlfriend.

'They are very succulent, dear. I still prefer Angus beef to be honest, but it is a good second.'

'Oh, no trouble is afoot.' the hulking back exclaimed.

'Why is that?' Eilidh asked.

'Because my sister just found us.'

'Hello, brother. Missed me?'

'With every shot sofar', the Calgary native responded jokingly. The Janser family really has a habit of pulling each other's legs. 'Please meet, Eilidh, my girlfriend and this is Hannibal. Eilidh, this is my younger sister Niamh. She is the chargehand on my family's ranch.'

'Pleased to meet you' said the younger Janser. 'Are you going to stay longer in Alberta? If so, dad would be very pissed if I did not convince you to stay on the ranch. We always keep a room for family.'

'That would be nice, I wanted to see 'Dodger' anyway. Did you take good care of him?'

'Your gelding is right as rain, Cal and I am insulted that you suggest otherwise.'

'Mea Culpa, Niamh. Of course I know that you take excellent care of all the animals on the ranch. So, will you give us a lift, since we left our car at home?'

'Well, I can get you to the ranch, but it will not be a lift per se.' Niamh said with a sly grin.

Callum turns to his girlfriend: 'Honey, can you ride a horse?'

you can take the Calgary out of CGY Janser, but you can't take CGY Janser out of Calgary!
