Expectations vs. Reality - S98 Tsunami Recap, S99 Outlook

Recommended Posts

Following his S97 performance, many questioned whether time-traveller and 2C Johnny Tsunami could continue the momentum he had carried from the end of the season. After a career breakout season, it was expected that Johnny would either regress and at best maintain his offensive pace.

Little did anyone expect Johnny to immediately hit the ground running, at the halfway point of the season he was leading the league in goals - there were even some talks of potential awards on the horizon if he kept it up. During this time of his peak efficiency, the rest of Davos struggled to get the offense initialized so it was clear he was soaking up a lot of the share of points from other potent scorers like Bucatini and Pastanap. After that offense got initiated about halfway through the season, Tsunami basically took a step back to his role as a 2C but ultimately passed his S97 marks for the S98 season - scoring 40 goals and assisting on 48 more for a total of 88 points. A 7 point improvement.

It's not really a question whether Davos as a team will do well this season, they sit firmly set up to be atop the EU standings with only the occasional contention from other powerhouse teams. It'll rather be a question of who on the team starts outputting at the beginning of the season and will they set the tone for the whole season. 236 words
