I think.

Anyway, the Vikings were swept out of the playoffs by the Cologne Express. The series may have gone quicker than some expected, but very few if any would have predicted the ultimate outcome to be different than it was. This was not a season in which Stockholm was expecting to make a deep playoff run, so the disappointment is minimal. The playoff experience gained should help the young roster as it moves forward. Unless big moves are made, it's likely that next season will play out similarly for the Vikings, albeit with an improved chance for upsetting the competition. Lord Karnage, who should be honored with this season's Rookie of the Year award, will be one of the VHL's premier defensemen next season. He is someone who I believe could find himself some attention for MVP when it comes time to make S43 award predictions.

The Vikings hold on to the first and fifth overall picks of the S42 draft, so they look to shore up more of their future during the off-season. Already heavy on defensemen and goaltending, the Vikings will have to find forwards somewhere, whether it's through the draft, trades, or perhaps a position change for Karnage or Lloyd Light, who are both very capable offensively. While they do have several forwards with decent potential already in the system (Joseph Roy III, Mario De Rossi, Teuvo Ruutu, Vogon Jeltz, Severin von Karma, and Prince Gigga Bijou), none of those players project to be stars that can carry an offense, something that VHL history has shown to be very important for teams.

end.
