Veteran winger Christoph Klose, just a few short days from signing a two year extension with the New York Americans, was dealt to the Cologne Express, along with fellow two-way winger XXX.

"Obviously leaving New York to go to Germany is bittersweet," Klose said in a press conference hosted in the Madison Square Garden atrium. "I've had a lot of success in New York and feel like I am just starting to unearth and hone my skills. That said, playing in my home country is a tremendous honor and opportunity, and I hope to be a key part of helping the Express win back to back titles."

The Express traded a number of assets to bring the rugged duo to Germany, including budding youngster Nicholas Caprivi, Alastir Graves, and future draft choices.

It is unclear as of this writing just who Klose will be playing with, but he is rumored to be very excited about the idea of being on a line with Thomas O’Malley.
