Maxime Wright is a young Canadian offensive defenseman from British Columbia. Wright has proven that he brings great offense to any team that he is a part of. Wright also brings an aggressive edge to the game, which can get his teammates riled up and bring them back in close games. The main part that Wright lacks is the ability to pass the puck. At times Wright will shoot without looking to see if anyone is open for the pass.

PROS

SCORING GOALS - The strongest part of Maxime Wright's game is his ability to get the puck into the back of the net. He's been able to lead his team the past two seasons in goals for defenseman. He not only has a great slap shot, but he also has an incredible wrist shot.

SKATING - Wright makes players around him look like amateurs when it comes to skating. He is very agile on the ice, and can deke out the best of them. His ability to stop and go is at the level of elite players, and he should be able to come into the Victory Hockey League and skate with the best of them without any issue.

HEART - The biggest thing that Wright has is a heart. He never gives up at any point when he is on the ice, and gives his team his all at all times. He was the captain the last two seasons for this reason. When his team needed the push, he was there to push them to their full abilities. Teams will definitely look into this when scouting him.

CONS

PLAYER AGENT - The biggest question for Maxime Wright is not even about how he plays the game, but it is mainly about who he selected to be his player agent. Wright went with someone that both he and the VHL are familiar with, 701. 701 has had both a star and a bust in the VHL so far, with his last player, Triton Jackson, being a bust. If Wright does keep his agent, things could be disastrous in the future.

PASSING - The biggest issue on ice for Wright is his ability to look for open players and to get the puck to them. Though Wright has a great shot, nobody can make every shot, and Wright has an issue with understanding that. Looking at film, Wright would take shots where he had no chance in making it, and there were players wide open with room to do damage. He also isn't the most accurate when he does make passes.

FIGHTING - To go along with Wright's big heart, he also likes to drop the gloves for his teammates. This has both come to hurt his team, and help his team. Wright plays with a lot of passion, and he sometimes chooses the wrong time to start a fight with the opposing team. If he can keep a level head in the VHL, this shouldn't be an issue. Though, Wright started out his first game in the VHLM with a fight to a draw against the Wild.
