Devise 4,475
We are 16 games into the regular season, a season which saw a player many thought should still be playing in the VHLM in Thaddues Humbert playing big time minutes with a well oiled Express machine. There is no denying that the slick skating playmaking defender hasn't been the offensive producer that he had hoped heading into his rookie VHL season. He only has 4 points, all assists thus far into the campaign. However Cologne is one of the better defensive teams in the league, lead by goaltender Brock Waldron and two underrated defense first players in Ron World Peace and Rift Pajodcast. However Humberts contribution is probably also overlooked. Despite playing some of the top teams in the league (Stockholm, Davos, Quebec, Calgary) Cologne sits at the top in both shots for and shots against. Humbert currently sits tied for second on his team in shots blocked, with 20 in the 16 games. Shots blocked is often an underrated stat, but there is no denying that Humbert and his team are making life easier for goalie Brock Waldron. More so Humbert is averaging 30 plus minutes a night with a positive plus minus on a winning team. While it is unlikely he will randomly go into an offensive burst and be a "top notch" offensive rookie, the intangibles he possess will make his transition easier. However one has to wonder just how long Cologne management will deal with poor offensive numbers considering the disappointing career of the last player coming from the Power Player Agency. That of course being Logan Laich. Corco 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/21909-thaddeus-humbert-logging-minutes-with-express/ Share on other sites
