Kyanon Passes Koponen in Points and Random Thoughts.

In a somewhat not surprising development, Biggu Kyanon has passed Aleksi Koponen in points, scoring 112 to his 111. Mc Hammer is close behind with 109, and with the lack of scoring depth on Yukon, could also have the chance to pass Koponen as well. This would make 3 players from Saskatoon the 1-3 leaders in points, of course the stunning part is that both Hammer and Kyanon are defensemen. Hammer as been more of a shooter, but he is also a veteran in the VHLM, this year marking his 2nd season. Kyanon burst out of the gate and is seen as a more all around offensive dman, capable of initiating the attack from anywhere in the offensive zone. Of course Faux has a healthy 20 point lead over Kyanon, and it is doubtful he will relinquish that lead to anyone at this point.

Curiously enough Perron has dropped out of the conversation, but has solidifed himself as a top 10 scorer. While in Brampton, Perron was scoring at the rate of 1.64 points per game. After being traded to the leading European team, his points have dropped 0.562 points per game. Congrats Oslo, you have smothered one of the top offensive players in the league, too bad he is on your team. Romanowski also isn't fairing that much better, going from a point per game in Brampton to under half a point per game.

I'm also slightly disappointed though not surprised given the lack of offensive depth on Yukon that Phil dropped out of the scoring race for dmen a week or so ago. Otherwise he was pretty neck and neck with Hammer and Kyanon.

Speaking of offensive depth, Parevechkin stepped in and been scoring at the torrid pace of 1.75 points per game, leading Brampton since the departure of Perron. Jefferson Jackson came back after his useless stint in the VHL and now leads the Blades in points having played only 28 games.
