Kol Mikaelson has been a name known throughout the world of hockey since he was 14 years of age. He's been thought out to be considered a generational talent like the likes of Mario Lemieux. Just like Lemieux, Mikaelson is very tall for a forward and quick for his build. Kol fell in love with the game of hockey at the age of 12 and never looked back since. Kol is the younger brother of Niklaus Mikaelson, the Quebec City Meute's star goalie. Klaus has always been there to guide Kol throughout his hockey career and has been a big reason as to why Kol is so gifted when it comes to scoring. Having a elite goalie as your older brother sure helps you to find ways to score the puck. After just turning 17 years old Kol Mikaelson is now ready to take the next step to becoming a pro hockey player. The VHLM awaits this young generational talent.

     Strengths

Quickness: Mikaelson has always been the top athlete at his school and a big reason for it was how quick he was. Kol is quick with not only his hands but his feet as well. His quickness allows him to make something out of literally nothing. It allows him to create plays, avoid hits and more. It's always fun to watch him when he splits the oppositions defenders with his quick feet and stick play before scoring. His quickness make him difficult target to lock on to.

Scoring Instinct: Sometimes scoring just comes a lot easier to some then others. Kol Mikaelson is one of those players that make it look so easy. Like they say in the soccer world " everything he touches turns to gold." That's exactly what can be said for Kol. He can score with his forehand, backhand, on his knees, and even while falling down sometimes. Kol can just finds all types of ways to score the puck whether it be beautiful or ugly he doesn't care. You get this guy the puck anywhere near the net and 9 times out of 10 he'll put that baby in the net.

Hands: The boy got hands. He's simply got prodigious puck-handling skills. The type of puck-handling that makes you get off your seat and say "OH MY SHIT SNACKS!". Kol is a crowd-pleaser, he does magic tricks and undresses his defenders before scoring and it's simply beautiful to watch. It's extremely rare to see him lose the puck or get the puck stripped away from him.

   Weaknesses

Play Without The Puck: One of the most glaring weaknesses in this young phenoms game has to be his play without the puck. Mikaelson  often looks lost when he doesn't have the puck and just fails to get in the right positions. This more of a concern in terms of the defensive side of the ice.

Defense: A gifted offensive player but the same can't be said on the defensive side of the game. Kol hasn't really shown any signs of defensive play. It's not that he sucks but he just really doesn't put much effort into that end of the game and it's something we see in a lot of players today. It shouldn't be a problem in the VHLM as long as he continues to score and create plays for his teammates.

Individual Player: Kol has always won at everything he did and has always been the best on his team. Being relied on so much each and every game, Kol has shown times where he could or should pass but instead he decides to take it upon himself to do something. He hasn't had any issues with his teammates in the past and that's probably because Kol is so skilled that he's allowed to do that. Most people would see this as selfish but when you're the best player on a weak team that's normal. It shouldn't be the same once he plays in the VHLM.

      Conclusion

He's able to create offense out of nothing and anywhere on the ice. He's got a VHL ready game and mindset. His hockey IQ is what's going to put him ahead of a lot of the talent in the VHLM. This kid is a truly talented and you have to see him play for yourself to see why he's regarded as a generational talent. Whichever team in the VHLM draft Kol Mikaelson will be getting a player capable of leading them to the championship.
