DollarAndADream 3,356
While he may have gone 1st overall to the Toronto Legion, it was not certain what kind of production the Legion would get out of him or what kind of performance he would have for the rookie scoring race. 57 games in thus far, Zach Parechkin is leading the pack at 1st overall, contending for the Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy. At this point at the 57 game mark, Zach Parechkin has 62 points, with 30 goals and 32 assists. The rookie underneath him is none other than Toronto Legion defenseman World B. Free with 45 points. Parechkin is ahead of the next guy by 17 points, which is more than the last time I checked in with him. It is a big question whether or not Parechkin will win that trophy, however, and there is still a good amount of games to go for B. Free to take a stab at the trophy. Not only are two Legion players doing well this season, but two of Seattle's rookies are making their mark themselves. Jace Hines has 40 points with 22 goals, and Arcturus Mengsk has 13 goals and 25 assists for 38 points. While Hines' 40 points is a little far back from Parechkin's 62, Mengsk's 38 isn't far off from B. Free's 45. That kind of production from a rookie defenseman is great to have. At the moment, Zach Parechkin looks like a shoe-in for Rookie of the Year, but it's definitely not certain. He does have 30 goals, which is the most of all the rookies, with Jace Hines having 22. Parechkin also is impressively sitting at 5th overall in hits in the VHL, with 236. He's known league-wide already and people have to watch out for him. Max Molholt already has someone to be an enforcer if need be, which goes to show the kind of leadership behind this team, having Molholt, Parechkin, and B. Free. Each of them have been sticking up for each other all season long. " Winning that rookie trophy is not my main goal, but it would be very nice. The main goal is obviously the Continental Cup, but we are by no means considered as a contender this season. If I can manage to win the Stolzschweiger I would be ecstatic.
