Da Trifecta 1,899
The Life of Kai Roberts Kai Roberts was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana to two very loving parents. Early on he started watching hockey. He would sit in front of the television and watch every game with his father. They made it a tradition to watch every game they could. Now there is no professional hockey team in Louisiana and none that are really in the area. The closest teams are either the Dallas Stars, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Florida Panthers. Kai wasn't sure which team he wanted to be a fan of growing up. His father is a Tampa Bay Lightning fan and he was actually thinking about rooting for them. Of course then the Dallas Stars also started seeming like a good team. He knew about the Lightning and all but the Stars were different to him. They weren't just a team that no one he knew liked, they were a team that seemed interesting. The logo and the colors are what really drew him in closer. He was a huge fan of green and of course that was the main color for the Stars. In his childhood years, (this being elementary or grade school), he decided that he was going to try and play sports. Now his school didn't have that many sports but hockey was sadly not one of them. The first sport he decided to try out for is football. Being from New Orleans his favorite football team was in in fact the Saints. While playing football he was used on both the offensive and the defensive side of the ball since the team couldn't field that many players. He was used as the teams running back at times, the teams receiver and he even played some tight end. His hands had been his biggest asset which allowed him all that diversity. On the defensive side of the ball he played corner back and safety. He didn't get interested in linebacker or the defensive line due to him not being that big. His knowledge of playing receiver really helped him out when playing corner and safety due to the routes some of them would run. When playing corner, he was basically a blanket on receivers and he rarely let anyone get passed him. He split time for running back and he was listed as the teams number three receiver as so he didn't get winded too often. He was the teams nickel corner so certain plays he wouldn't even be on the field. During middle school he continued playing football as he was pretty good at it and he wanted to continue doing what he loved doing. Although he actually tried his hand at basketball as well. He knew that it wasn't going to be an easy task. In middle school he actually was one of the taller kids in his grade. He was around six foot tall and he played as the teams small forward mainly and the teams shooting guard. His ability to get open and just be able to use his agility to his advantage was one of the things that helped him make the team. It seemed like he was all over the court all the time. When being guarded there wasn't that many players who actually could defend him. He couldn't really shoot that well but he was always able to find a way to get into the basket and would do quite a few layups. He even grew to six feet one inches by the time he was in eighth grade. By then he was learning how to dunk and actually started to use that to his advantage. When high school came around he was able to play hockey. The team was solid but it was nothing spectacular at all. He joined the team and his coach tried to test him out at many positions. He wasn't sure of where he played the best but they knew one thing for sure about Kai, he was no goaltender. He literally watched every shot sail passed him when shot towards him. His coach thought immediately of playing him at winger. He knew that his speed and agility would be great. They could use that to their advantage and then try to get him to be a play maker. He could be able to pass the puck around quite a bit while still being able to score some goals. When his junior year came around his coach plugged him in at center. He had been working on his face offs and it seems like he had actually become one of the better players his coach has seen in the circle in quite some years. He finished out his junior and senior years at center and he would then he would be all set to play some professional hockey. There was two choices laid out for him after he graduated high school. He could try to enter the NHL draft and wait and play in the minors system or he could jump straight to the VHL. Of course the VHL has a minor system and quite frankly it seems like he could get more noteariety from playing in the VHL. While the NHL had a lot more teams and a lot more talent, the VHL has had some of their big names too. They don't have all the teams the NHL does but some of the most known teams in VHL history seem to be ready for a rebuild. While the season hasn't played out for him to know which VHL team he could get drafted to, he was ready. He chose the VHL route and he was ready for the VHLM draft. He is considered a top five selection and he could be taken at any point in there. He knows other talents like Bobby Digital and Pietro Maximoff seem to be the big names out there. Those look like the top two prospects and Kai could end up either third or fourth overall. The Bern Royals and the Saskatoon Wild sit around in the third and fourth spots. Kai has entered the VHLM draft and is ready to be wowed. Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/28567-claimedthe-life-of-kai-roberts-reviewed-12/ Share on other sites
DollarAndADream 3,356
Feedback: What a damn sexy sig that is there. Good bio. Probably could have looked better if you separated the high school, middle school, etc parts with their own headers, but still good.
