DollarAndADream 3,356
Ariel Weinstein - 3rd Overall -------------------------------- -------------------------------- The career for goaltender Ariel Weinstein of the Stockholm Vikings, although without a cup to his name, has been a very storied one to this point. He is originally a 3rd overall pick of the Quebec City Meute in Season 45, and has gone on to become quite an amazing goaltender. Before entering the VHL, Weinstein was a coveted goaltender in Season 45, winning multiple awards. He won the VHLM Founder's Cup, and also took home the trophies for Playoff MVP and Top Goalie. Coming into the VHL in Season 45 for the Quebec City Meute, Ariel played 63 games with a record of 29-28-6.He posted a .904% save percentage and a goals against average of 2.86. Although posting these decent numbers, he did not register a shutout surprisingly. The Quebec City Meute also made the post-season in S45, and it was in a 4-0 losing effort. Ariel Weinstein put up a save percentage of .902% with a goals against of 4.01. This was all against a tough Calgary Wranglers team which made the finals that season. In his sophomore season, Ariel's numbers improved, although the Quebec team around him did not. In 64 games played in Season 46, Weinstein had a record of 18-37-9. Although having that kind of a record, he did improve in the other areas. His save percentage was at 0.916% and goals against at 2.80. Adding onto that was 6 shutouts, so even though the team did not make the post-season, Ariel Weinstein had a good run. Before the start of Season 47, Ariel Weinstein was traded over to the Stockholm Vikings, and this is where Ariel's career took a turn. Once again, Weinstein played 64 games, but this time around the record was a great one. He posted a record of 39-21-4, and his save percentage improved to 0.923%. On top of that, Ariel's goals against average was 2.01, and he doubled up shutouts to 12. Having a record like that on his new Stockholm Vikings squad, they definitely made the playoffs that season. Throughout the playoffs, Stockholm managed to get past the Riga Reign and the Helsinki Titans, although came up short in the Continental Cup Finals against the New York Americans where they lost that series 4-1. Ariel Weinstein registered some great numbers during that run as well, where he had a save percentage of 0.924% and a goals against average of 2.01. He also added a lone shutout during the run. In the off-season, Ariel Weinstein also took home a VHL Award, and that was the Dustin Funk Trophy for being the most improved player in Season 47. Now we come into the current season of Season 48. Just like his previous 2 seasons, Ariel played 64 games. He made a milestone of wins with a record of 40-15-9. For his save percentage, he hovered around his usual with 0.921%. He also repeated his last season with a goals against average of 2.01 and added 8 shutouts. Ariel Weinstein and the Stockholm Vikings are now heading into the playoffs to face off against the Cologne Express in the first round, and it will be interesting to see what kind of post-season he will have. Evans 305
Reviewed: Goalies seem to be the position you have to be the most patient with. Kind of understand the stats, but due to my lack of hockey knowledge some of it is going over my head. Based on my assumptions, seems like he had a pretty good season this year? lol DollarAndADream 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/29940-ariel-weinsteins-career-so-far-reviewed/#findComment-331812 Share on other sites
