STZ 5,360
Quebec City, Canada. As the season comes to an end for the Quebec City Meute, they have a lot more to look forward to than they did last year at this time. Top young stars, Tom Lincoln and Jon Sleeman both made impactful strides, Dmitry Dadonov looked like a goaltender ho is making the necessary improvements to play in the NHL, and their rookies Flip Rodriguez and Unassisted both had stand out seasons. Unassisted, their 2nd pick in the S48 draft had one that might indicated there's a very bright future for the Quebec City Meute. As a first year player, he outscored all of his same-age players by 13 points. He fell short of the rookie scoring leader Covington III, who entered the VHL as an S47 player. Unassisted was drafted knowing he had a scoring touch and elite hockey sense. However, when any rookie hits an above point per game pace, it is something to take note of. He led the team in Game Winners, Faceoff Percentage, and Power Play Points. Chevy Clinton gave him the responsibility of being the number one center, and it seems he responded positively. In addition to the offensive numbers, Unassisted proved he is ready to take on a VHL defensive workload. He finished a +19, and compared to the QC second line player Coutzen who posted a -48, it goes to show the impact he made on the same team. That might be the bigger story from the rookie coming out of the season. After selecting 1st in S47 and 2nd in the S48 draft, QC is hoping this is the last time they call out their pick early in the draft for a long time.. evrydayimbyfuglien 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/29976-unassisted-a-standout-rookie/ Share on other sites
