While the Seattle Bears aren't adding quality elite talent like Riga and Calgary are, they aren't sitting around like the other teams either. While the management and organizational fan base knew that the odds were likely up against them, they still made extremely strong pushes for free agents and have ended up helping out their roster slightly. With the addition of two blue liners, Bubba Nuck and Marquis Hyvarinen, the blue line went from having absolutely nothing to it, to atleast some form of defensive help.

"We understand that these players may not be anything special, nor are they anything overly too great to get excited about. However, we are a better team than we were yesterday and that's what counts. As the days move on, so do we. We have nothing against the FA's of this season and are going to have to prepare for the coming season and next off-season in alternative ways. We have plans lined in place right now - essentially a Plan A and Plan B - whether or not we can effectively pull them off is the next issue".
