Foreword

My name is Thomas. I am a junior in high school who currently resides in the state of North Carolina. I needed money for a new video game, so I browsed Craigslist. I found an ad looking for a ghost writer for a professional hockey player's biography. I have almost no writing experience, apart from a few papers in my English classes, but I figured I would give it a shot. The player hired me without an interview or seeing any of my previous work, he told me to do my best. He also didn't provide any information. I get the feeling that he won't read this before it is published either, hence the very open and honest foreword. I hope you enjoy this biographical account of Die Domi's life, as told by someone who has no idea who he is.

Chapter 1: The Name

Die Domi wasn't born as Die, but rather as Jackson Domi. He was the youngest of three brothers for the Domi family and was also the hardest to handle. As a child, he was a total brat who always got into trouble and gave his parents hell. Before he was even old enough to talk, his parents had stopped calling him Jackson altogether. In fact, he started answering to "Die," instead. This was due to them constantly wishing this fate upon him, as they simply couldn't deal with him. It wasn't a great relationship, as you might imagine. At the age of three, he answered to Die as his name and it became somewhat official. Soon after that he was sent off to live with an aunt and uncle, as his parents had had enough.

Chapter 2: Werewolves and a Rocket Ship

At the age of 8, Die's aunt and uncle (who he assumed were his parents), sent him out into the woods to look for a dragon. Boy was he gullible. They spent the next few hours packing all of their things and emptying their home. They abandoned him there and left for greener pastures. It seems that he rubbed them the wrong way as well. Die never found the dragon, but he did find a cave full of wolves. However, these were not regular wolves - they were werewolves. They took him in, after he'd been alone and lost for days, famished, and fed him. They gave him a home and decided to raise him as their own. Die lived with the werewolves for many years, until he was 14. They lived primarily off the land, hunting wild game and foraging for edible plants. Though these werewolves never transitioned back into humans, most of them remembered their time as one. One of the wolves was a former member of NASA, surprisingly. He had spent his free time in the woods working on a rocket that would take him and his family to the United States. Now is probably a good time to tell you that this story has been taking place in Canada. But Die had other plans. One night he decided to sneak to the rocket and take it for himself. He initiated the launch sequence, which he had seen the scientist werewolf test before, and prepared himself to land in the greatest country in the world. The werewolves awoke at the engines firing up and rushed to the scene. They saw the flames burst from the bottom of the rocket as it began its ascent into the starry sky. They tried to stop him, but to no avail. Die was headed to America.

Chapter 3: Weight Gain and the #44

Die went further into space than he intended. The change in gravity altered his body in strange ways - it stretched him, for instance. The 5'6 teenager was stretched into a 6'8 figure who was horrifyingly skinny. His rocket ship crashed on an icy lake, or, I should say into an icy lake, in Michigan. It was the middle of winter. Some locals saw the crash and rushed to his aid. They pulled the gangly teenager from the crashed ship and out of the frozen lake. They rushed him inside and near a fire, covering him in blankets. He was deathly chilled, so they fed him warm soup. They fed him more and more of it, and he seemed to never raise his temperature. This went on for weeks, and then months. He was alive, he was aware, but his body remained nearly frozen solid despite the warm temperatures, blankets and soup. Winter turned into spring and then into summer. As the leaves began changing color, Die finally started to warm up. By this time he had put on considerable weight from remaining in one place and eating constantly. He weighed 250 pounds. All in all, it took Die 44 weeks to recover and winter was back on in Michigan as he became fully recovered.

Chapter 4: Hockey

The locals decided that with Die's tremendous size, he could be a hockey player. They wanted him to end up with the Red Wings and be as big as Zdeno Chara, a former Bruins legend. They trained him in the sport that winter and he took to it immediately. He was a natural, being from Canada and all. Die used them for all the training they were worth. He spent many years in Michigan, refining his hockey skills. When he turned into an adult, he decided to leave Michigan and head out on his own. He went north in search of his parents (or, his aunt and uncle, technically). As he crossed into Canada, he finally found the thing he'd been searching for - well, sorta.

Chapter 5: The Dragon

Die discovered that a dragon was terrorizing the Canadians and the news hadn't reached America. He knew it was the dragon his parents had sent him to find. He knew what he had to do. So he killed it, in a totally cool and badass way. It was great.

Chapter 6: The VHL

Domi was now a Canadian legend, as he had killed the dragon that was tormenting the country. He entered the VHL draft and was immediately placed on a VHLM team. He played a season there and then was drafted by the Stockholm Vikings in the second round.

Chapter 7: Later Life

Die eventually died.

Epilogue

Hey, Thomas again. This is what happens when you pay a high school student to write your biography, give them no information and pay them a measly sum. Everything in this story is 100% fact.
