Die Domi is a rookie for the Stockholm Vikings, selected 14th overall in the S52 VHL Entry Draft. He plays left wing for the Vikings. He played for the Saskatoon Wild in the VHLM, where he won the Cup. The 31 year old is looking to make a late break into professional hockey. Let's take a look at his strengths and weaknesses.

Pros

Checking - Domi is known for his physicality. He finds ways to put a hit on someone and seeks out contact. He will go out of his way to hit someone, especially if it's a big hit. Domi likes to grind out games from the wing, protecting his linemates and giving them open ice by placing his opponents on their asses. He uses his 6'8, 250 pound frame to its maximum effectiveness, by dominating smaller wings with bone-shattering hits.

Defense - Checking is a major part of Domi's defensive abilities, but he is also very good at using his stick and his body effectively on defense. He can poke check very well, which can surprise some opponents, given his tendency to hit them first. He also knows how to get his body into position to block shots. It helps that he is massive in terms of hockey player size, so it definitely makes him a bigger target for a puck to hit.

Passing - Domi is always looking to hit someone, always. So, when the puck comes to him or when he takes it away from an opponent, his initial instinct is always to quickly pass it away to someone else. This keeps him free and clear to seek out opponents to demolish. This has resulted in him being a pretty effective passer, as he has trained himself to get rid of the puck very quickly and effectively.

Cons

Scoring - Given his tendency to pass the puck as quickly as possible, it is no surprise that Domi is not much of a scorer. In fact, he very rarely even attempts a shot at all. His preference is to hit, and passing lets him do that more. Shooting takes too much time and focus, so he has avoided it entirely.

Puck Handling - You might see a trend with this skill as well, as getting rid of the puck immediately doesn't help you in the puck handling department. Since Domi almost never actually handles the puck, we assume he is awful at it. This gives him even more incentive to get rid of it as quickly as possible, so that he can get back to headhunting.

Discipline - Not at all a surprise, Domi has been known to find himself in the penalty box on occasion. As a player who seeks out contact and has no regard for human life, this isn't at all surprising for his skillset. He will often find himself alone in the penalty box, but his memory is short-lived as he will come right out and do something that sends him right back in. If he can stay on the ice more, he can rack up more hits - but he has to get away with them.
