Next up on this list will be the Calgary Wranglers, who only made 2 picks after trading away their 1st to Avangard and 2nd to Hamilton. So they just had two draft picks to make which leads to this special three part edition. 

 

3rd Round, Pick 19 (via Avangard, via Helsinki): Right Wing Edward Holm

You don't really expect to draft such a player with the 19th overall selection in the 3rd round but the Wranglers did just that as they so far have the best track record in terms of drafting. Edward Holm is a Calgary Wranglers lifer as he played 442 games, scoring 142 goals and assisting on 312 assists for 454 points in his career. He also played in 58 playoff games scoring 16 goals and assisting on 26 goals for 42 points. He was a reliable player throughout his career putting up a point per game. He won a championship in Season 3 and in Season 8 during his career.

Roger Rainville didn't play a single game in the VHL. 

 

Verdict

Edward Holm is a hit in this draft as the Wranglers go 1/2 in this now seemingly weak draft class.

 

Hamilton Canucks trade their picks to Seattle, Stockholm and Stockholm and will not make a selection in this draft.

 

Next up is the Helsinki Titans who make only 2 selections after trading a 3rd round pick to Avangard who later flipped it to Calgary who selected Edward Holm.

 

1st Round, Pick 3; Right Wing Daric Radmonovic

Daric Radmonovic was drafted 3rd overall, and he is the only one of the top 5 to not make the Hall of Fame but that doesn't mean he wasn't a great player. He played in 432 games scoring 292 goals and assisting on 351 goals  for 643 points. He also played in 34 playoff games scoring 13 goals and assisting on 29 goals for 42 points. His player agent was named GM of the Titans after awhile and he led his team to the Championship in Season 6 after building through the draft. He might be one of the more deserving members who might need to be in the Hall of Fame. Over a point per game, plus point per game in playoffs and a Continental Cup.

 

2nd Round, Pick 11: Center Lennowitcz Schalkwinnz

Lennowitcz Schalkwinnz is 1/2 of the legendary defensive pairing labelled as the Hebrew Hammers. He was drafted as a center but switched to defense in his career. He played in 430 games scoring 80 goals and assisting on 272 goals for 302 points. He played in 41 playoff games scoring 12 goals and assisting on 27 goals for 39 points. He was the shutdown guy of the Hebrew Hammers but obviously he had some great offensive abilities. He won a championship with the Calgary Wranglers in Season 8.
