TheLastOlympian07 2,388
Having a 2nd, player has really made this fly by, here we will be finishing up the Season 4 VHL Entry Draft. We start with the Stockholm Rams. Round 1, Pick 1: Left Wing Alec Miller Career Reg. Season Stats: 575 GP | 255 G | 326 A | 581 P Career Playoff Stats: 48 GP | 13 G | 14 A | 27 P With the first overall pick in the Season 4 Entry Draft. He was able to play in 575 games, scoring 255 goals and assisting on 326 goals for 581 points. He played in 48 playoff games scoring 13 goals and assisting on 14 goals for 27 points. He won a Continental Cup in Season 7 and Season 11. Despite these point totals and winning a few continental cups, it is consider by some that Alec Miller is one of the worst 1st overall picks in VHL history. Either that or I think they say that the Season 4 draft is one of the worst in history. The second part may be true but Alec Miller certainly was a good VHL player. Round 1, Pick 4: Defenseman Alex Kachur Career Reg. Season Stats: 435 GP | 65 G | 222 A | 287 P Career Playoff Stats: 30 GP | 4 G | 6 A | 10 P Stockholm again came up again with the 4th overall pick after Seattle had picks 2 and 3. The took defenseman Alex Kachur who played in 435 games, scoring 65 goals and assisting on 222 goals for 287 points. A very decent total for a defenseman although, probably not as many as you would want from a 4th overall pick. He did play in 30 playoff games scoring 4 goals and assisting on 6 goals for 10 points. He was a champion in Season 9 with the Toronto Legion. Round 1, Pick 8: Right Wing Bruce Stewart Career Reg. Season Stats: 72 GP | 2 G | 27 A | 29 P Career Playoff Stats: 11 GP | 1 G | 2 A | 3 P With their last and the last pick in the 1st round, Stockholm selected winger Bruce Stewart who played just one season with the Rams. He played 72 games scoring 2 goals and assisting on 27 goals for 29 points. He did however play in 11 playoff games scoring 1 goal and assisting on 2 goals for 3 points. This was his first and last season in the VHL. Round 2, Pick 9: Goalie Bob Toskala Career Reg. Season Stats: 43 GP | 16 W | 22 L | 0 OTL | 0.905 SV% | 3.91 G.A.A | 0 SO | 0 A Career Playoff Stats; 1 GP | 0 W | 0 L | 0 OTL | 0.933 SV% | 3.00 G.A.A | 0 SO | 0 A Bob Toskala was the first pick in the 2nd round by the Rams. He was expected to be the franchise savior in net but ended up being a bust. He played in 43 games and posted a record of 16-22-0 with a 0.905 save percentage and a 3.91 GAA. In the playoff he came in for relief and posted a 0.933 save percentage and a 3.00 GAA. Overall, he was not what the Rams expected when they took him 9th overall. Round 3, Pick 17: Right Wing Terry Lau Career Reg. Season Stats: N/A Career Playoff Stats: N/A Terry Lau didn't end up playing in the VHL. Next we move on to Toronto, who had 4 picks in this draft. Round 1, Pick 6: Left Wing Chad Elmy Career Reg. Season Stats: 142 GP | 50 G | 69 A | 119 P Career Playoff Stats: 6 GP | 3 G | 0 A | 3 P Chad Elmy was drafted by the Toronto Legion with the 6th overall pick. He played in just 142 games scoring 50 goals and assisting on 69 goals for 119 points. He wasn't that good but he wasn't that bad either. If only he didn't retire early. He also played in just 6 playoff games but he scored in half of them for 3 points. Round 2, Pick 14: Center P.K Subban Career Reg. Season Stats: N/A Career Playoff Stats: N/A Never played a game in the VHL, found his calling as a NHL Defenseman. Round 3, Pick 18 (via Seattle): Goaltender Jonathan Bernier Career Reg. Season: 18 GP | 2 W | 12 L | 0 OTL | 0.839 SV% | 6.93 G.A.A | 0 SO | 0 A Career Playoff Stats: N/A Jonathan Bernier was drafted with pick number 18 and he didn't really do much other than lose 12 games and win only 2. He had a very ugly 0.839 save percentage and a 6.93 GAA. He would go on to have a decent NHL career. Round 3, Pick 22: Center Eric Bachner Career Reg. Season Stats: N/A Career Playoff Stats: N/A Last and certainly least lol, we have Vasteras who had just 1 pick in the 3rd round. Round 3, Pick 21: Defenseman Mikael Jonsson Career Reg. Season Stats: 72 GP | 9 G | 16 A | 25 P Career Playoff Stats: N/A Coming in with just 1 pick was Vasteras who took defenseman Mikael Jonsson who played in 1 season scoring 9 goals and assisting on 16 goals for 25 points. That is about it really. Season 4 Draft 1. Seattle Bears - 2/2 = 100% 2. Hamilton Canucks - 2/4 = 50% 3. Stockholm Rams - 2/5 = 40% 4. Vasteras IK - 0/1 = 0% 5. Helsinki Titans - 0/3 = 0% 6.
