Unconfirmed reports coming out of Dallas, Texas are saying that star High School forward Alexander Mcmanahan is "very unimpressed" with offers coming from the league that he has recently stated he has an interest in playing in, the Victory Hockey League. At the beginning of the year Mcmanahan was ecstatic to announce that he had "great interest" in playing in the VHL.

Mcmanahan's stats for his senior year of hockey have been nothing short of impressive; in just 52 short games, he led the Christiansen Colts in points, with 51 goals and 22 assists, bringing him up to 312 points in 256 games during his time at Christiansen Academy.  He is best described by scouts and coaches as "an elite sniper, with a lot of talent and determination to play at the next level." Last saturday Mcmanahan officially declared for the VHL, stating that "his time was better spent playing hockey than hitting the books and studying... After all, talent like this (Mcmanahan's) comes around once in a lifetime, and it'd be a shame to spend those hours in a classroom than in the gym or on the rink."

One of the prime concerns that many had for Mcmanahan coming into the VHL was his attitude; When asked about potential complaints about the winger's selfishness both on and off the ice, Colts head coach Doug Pederson had this to say: "He's a very self-centered player, and although to many that might sound like something that's bad or negative... It's worked out here pretty well." This comment of course sparked a great debate amongst draft analysts and coaches all around, claiming that this was a very dodgy answer and that Pederson did his best to indirectly answer the question on account of not wanting to anger the young sniper, but the chatter died down as he came to finish his final high school season.

With all this in mind, Alex Mcmanahan's future now indefinitely hangs in the balance as these complaints come forward, and it's not completely impossible to believe that he would play somewhere else in the event of not getting an offer he liked. "(Alex) used to always talk about wanting to play internationally, somewhere like Sweden or Finland or Russia... It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he chose to play somewhere for less just to show (The VHL) what they missed out on in not giving him an offer he likes." was the only comment his linemate, Todd Gunn, had to say concerning Mcmanahan's own thoughts on his future in hockey.

So with all of this said, how will this situation be defused? Will Mcmanahan find a home in the VHL? Will he find solace in the cold brutal tundras of Russia, or the slightly-less-brutal-but-still-super-cold landscape of Sweden? Only time will tell.
