Childhood

Peter Quill was the only son of Meredith Quill who lived in a quiet town in Colorado. After Peter was born his father was never around, his mother also did not mention to him who he was or where he came from. Even though he was a happy kid while growing up, the ‘not knowing’ always left a shadow over his existence. Late in his teen years he finds his fathers’ gun hidden in the house, he had no idea where it came from, but it certainly was not from earth. When he confronted his mother with this, she finally told him the story. She had always kept it hidden as she was afraid he wouldn’t believe it. It turns out that his father was not from this planet and when his spaceship crashed on earth, that his mother took him in. Before she realized she was pregnant with him, he had already left. From that moment on, Peter was really fascinated by everything space related. Peter grew up without much to worry about and had a peaceful childhood. He spent his days playing around the house, watching all kind of alien related movies (in the secret hope it would show him his father), he was a real happy kid. But as we all now, when things seem to good to be true, they usually are.

 

Teenage years

 

After he learned the truth he faced another setback in his life as he found out his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He got one last gift from her in the form of a mixtape full of the classics of modern music. Starting with ‘Hooked on a Feeling’ by Blue Swede, it goes from Raspberries, to Bowie to 10CC to The Runaways. A lot of different songs that basically tell the story of his mother and father. The mixtape might be one of his most precious objects as it’s the last gift he has received of her. He wouldn’t go anywhere without it and even if he loses it, he will go through everything needed to get it back, after all, it’s his last memory he has of his mother.

 

 

With the loss of his mother and knowing next to nothing about his father, Peter continued with his love for space and eventually joins a NASA training program, in the hopes of ever getting into space and find the truth. Up till now he has never meet his father, but he has not lost hope that this will ever become reality.

 

High School / College

 

In his younger years he was always homeschooled, but after the demise of his mother he was took into an internal education at NASA, due to his background (which he has proven with a DNA test), he was considered an important government asset, leading to him being able to be schooled personally at NASA, so no real college or high school experience for Peter, but the ability to learn from the best scientists the nation has to offer. During all the training and schooling he went through, it showed he was a natural and his alien DNA showed he had remarkable reflex skills and that there wasn’t a simulator test he could not pass. It wasn’t for long until he was able to go into space and start his journey to find his father. Even though the mission is currently not succesfull and he has not meet his father yet, this lifepath has lead to meeting new friends, which include brute barbarians, talking raccoons, green women and a tree. Things that might be hard to believe when he’s around people back on earth, but nothing is too crazy in the life of Peter Quill.

 

Where he is now.

This brings us to where we are today. As money is no issue for him, Quill does not have a real job and can do whatever he wants. Rumors go he actually saved our world from destruction, but that seemed to have gone in the classified section of the government. But Quill has the green light to do whatever he pleases and due to that, he decided the other night to do something crazy: become a hockey player.

 

Not having played a game of hockey (or any real sports for that matter) he is quite inexperienced and he might be behind a lot in terms of skill of fellow draft class mates but that doesn’t matter to him. He does what makes him happy, and in between the hockey seasons he can just go off, save the galaxy or try to continue the search for his father. Nothing seems to bother the guy as he starts his life as a hockey player. During his training at the NASA simulator he learned to be able to quickly adapt to situations he is not used to. So he quickly learned how to skate and how to shoot a puck, his lightning fast reflexes certainly come into play for Peter.

 

After declaring his intention to play in the minors of the Victory Hockey League, he immediately got recognized by some fan girl that goes under the nickname of Jericho. Who screamed Star Lord outside of the head office of the VHL. After posing together and giving out an autograph he went inside and waited for contract offers to pop in. Since teams were now able to offer contracts he sat around and waited. It took a while as the teams weren’t sure how they could fit in a guy that never even skated before. The Yukon Rush and the Saskatoon Wild showed intention, but Peter Quill, who really can’t stand losing, decided he would aim for the top as he contacted the team in first place to check for their interest. Luckily this was not a problem and Quill was able to sign his first professional hockey contract. After saving the galaxy, he now tries something which is just as important: Win a Founder’s Cup.
