Mr Bohannan 114
EDDIE KING ========================================== Position: Goalie Age: 17Handedness: Right Jersey Number: 1Height (inches): 6,3Weight (lbs.): 240Birthplace: Kurland ========================================== Eddie King is a 17 years old goalie from Kurland, Latvia. Wearing a jersey number #1 he is 6.3 ft tall and weights around 240 lbs. Starting his ice hockey career without knowing much about the game and what it requires, he is now one of the upcoming talents of the Latvian ice hockey and is heading for the big leagues by enlisting himself for the season 55 VHL draft. Some say that he has the skills of being a great goaltender passed down as his step-brother is also a goalie and currently playing in the VHL. King started his goalie training in the local team where he also played for the most of his time. Last three seasons King played for the Latvian vice-champion team - Kurland Poseidons. This season Eddie signed a one season contract with Ottawa Lynx before being officially drafted into VHLM. ========================================== When it comes to the strengths of the young goalie then it is definitely his size as standing tall in the net at 6.3 ft and being 240 lbs in weight does not leave much space for the rival teams to score as minimal movement is needed for him to cover the net from one side to the other. That leads us to the next of the strengths that King posses - agility. Of course it is a common sense that a big man like Eddie King will not be the fastest goalie in the league when it comes to adjusting from one pole to another or when it comes of getting up from the low ice save. but nonetheless he is more agile than you would think when looking at him. Kings movement on the ice is really swift and he moves like a feather, considering his size that he has. If that is not enough for you to know that he has a great future in this sport then to addition to his size and agility he has spectacular reaction time. Even if you are skilled enough to find a spot where you could bypass him and score, you have to be careful as he could stop your offensive with the reaction time that he has. That also has helped him in the situations where he does not see the moment of the shoot but has been able to react on the sound of the shot or aftermath and position himself well quick and strong because of his reaction time. ========================================== Of course no one is perfect and Eddie King is no different from others as after all we all are human and humans have their weaknesses. If you would look at Eddie's weaknesses then you would see that he is pretty balanced player and does not like to see himself being really weak on specifics skill. When it comes to training and practice he tries to improve himself in all the aspects of a good goalie equally. But if we have to point out specific weaknesses that Eddie King does have then one of them would be the rebound control. The biggest issue for Eddie King is the rebound control as a lot of saves shots are based on his spectacular reaction times but when that happens they are quick-saves and the lack of rebound control does not allow him to keep the puck to him. As good as your reaction time could be it is almost impossible to save a short hand rebound puck shot. Adding to the list of his weaknesses would be the style-control. Being the size and weight he is it is not the easiest way to master your style especially when you play hybrid style which leaves less covered space. As the last weakness that would stand out more than others imperfections that Eddie King might have at this point, while still being so young would be the experience of high-level ice-hockey. It is different when you play in juniors and then start playing at high minor league such as VHLM where the league gathers the best talents the world has. But unfortunately the experience is not something you can train or practice on. It is gained by playing is such high level and learning from your mistakes.
