solas 1,951
After Apollo Skye’s MVP season in S53 and the Seattle Bears’ rebuild beginning, it seemed likely that the Quebec City Meute had secured themselves a solid playoff spot for the foreseeable future. But not many would have expected Quebec to do quite as well as they have so far in Season 54. Apollo Skye is once again leading the league in save percentage, and the Meute have, at least for the moment, taken the lead in the North American Conference over the New York Americans. After making it into the playoffs with only 75 points last season, Quebec are on pace to improve their total by almost 50 points. While it’s unlikely that they’ll keep up this rate, it’s still incredibly impressive compared to their performance last season. The team is led by Titan Kronos’ impressive 47 points. Kronos, who is playing his first actual games for the franchise after Quebec nearly drafted him 11th overall in the Season 48 Draft, is also making his return to the VHL after not accepting a contract offer from any team and sitting out for S53. He’s currently first among defensemen for points and fifth in the entire league. His play, however, looks like it might fall back down to earth for the second half of the season - although it’s still likely that he’ll continue to play a key role for the Meute. Rookie forward John Locke, the third overall pick in the Season 53 draft, has also made a significant impact with 39 points. This is good enough for second among all rookies, and his 22 goals places him in fourth in the league. With new players making significant impacts, old players improving, and a very young group of players, the Quebec City Meute are looking solid for this season and the future.
