Claimed: Seattle Bears Future

The Seattle Bears had fallen, got back up and now seem to be on their way back down. Scratch that. They aren't on their way back down, they're already down and we think this time it going to be a hell of a lot rockier than the previous rebuild/retool. The last time GM Campbell tore down the team, they had some pretty strong assets to assist in the rebuild which allowed them to push themselves further through it and in fact call themselves a "retool". This time, unfortunately for the Bears, is not the case. While they had some decent pieces to play with and managed to get some fair assets back from transactions, they're also nothing to run home and tell mom about. Quebec 1st, what will that land them? Some new member currently streaking that will bust in no time - a steal that proves everyone wrong or an average player that never becomes much but is always around the site?

The question has remained all season long - what is the Bears true direction? We know they're heading into a rebuild, but what, who, when and how are they going to pull through it? Currently, they have a couple 1sts, but one of those are not their first from this season (which blows). Aleksei Federov and VVA remain on the organization as they were taken in the last VHL entry draft. What revolves around them is, will Campbell keep those 2, build around them, or try and send them packing and build around a strong draft to have all players the similar age? To comment on the Bears present and future, here is the man himself - GM Blake Campbell.

Currently, we are in a very tough phase for the organization. There's a lot of unanswered questions, holes and places where we currently do not have a piece to the puzzle to fit. With only 2 pieces onto the organization, we at least have those figured out. We have strong faith still in Vernon Von Axelberry and we know what kind of player Aleksei Federov will have. Our concern over those two is this. We don't want to prevent them from having great careers. This rebuild could be over in 2 seasons, or it may be longer. Chances are, it's going to be longer. If we could find a suitor for these 2 players, that wouldn't be something we oppose.

If they still, that is great too. We roll forward in our rebuild knowing that we have a strong goalie and defenseman. One more Dman and we cap off the back end, are strong back there and can start focusing on the forward part to our masterpiece, if you will. Currently in the draft, you got one stand out player in Felix savard. It's apparent he's the best and will be going 1st overall. It seems as though we have one round where players hold any sort of value. After that, it drops off significantly and to be honest, not sure how much those players hold right now. To be fair to them, scouting has not been something completed yet this season.

One for sure thing of the upcoming draft is that we nab Swedish center, Mattias Forsberg. Unlike Aleksei Federov, he will not be a homerun and may be more like an "infield double", maybe triple if we're blessed enough. We've noticed he's slipped off the tracks of development lately and while this could be an Oslo program thing, we're concerned and there for our player. Forsberg was once rated by scouts of having the potential to become an elite 1st line center. Now, after further evaluation, has slipped down to a 1st line center who rounds out at about a point per game.

We're excited for the off-season, and are ready to get that ball rolling in motion. Seattle's doors are always open to conversation from other GM's.

For Mattias Forsberg (6)

Quebec's 1st is shaping up to fit in nicely with Key Perought's position on draft rankings! @NUCK

We'll safely put any of this to rest for the sake of @NUCK being on here. I want him to enjoy the site and stay with the VHL for as long as he can/wants. He an excellent member.

Thus, Nuck will not be drafted by the Seattle Bears (which is a shame - he's a really good member and we go back to when he first started on the SHL). Either way, we got a goalie who I trust in.
