So, I will be skipping to the Season 18 VHL Draft because it is the furthest back we can go with the use of the indexes. As a new twist, I put all the draftees into a double elimination tournament where you the members can vote on who you think was better so we can have a somewhat better understanding on who we thought was the best player from a draft. It is double elimination in case one player got paired up against a tough opponent and would other wise have been ranked much higher. So the first player I will talk about it Roman Andreev.

Season 19 Founders Cup Champion with Minot Gladiators
Season 23 Continental Cup Champion with Calgary Wranglers
Season 23 Devon Marlow-Marta Trophy Winner with Calgary Wranglers

Round 3, Pick 18: Calgary Wranglers select Right Wing Roman Andreev

Season 18 - Minot Gladiators

Season 18 Regular Season:
S18 - VHLM - MIN - 72 GP | 34 G | 46 A | 80 P | +24 | 39 PIM | 68 H | 260 SH | 30 SB | 2 GWG

Season 18 Playoffs:
S18 - VHLM - MIN - N/A

After being drafted, Roman Andreev was assigned to the Minot Gladiators who at the time were the VHLM farm team for the Calgary Wranglers. The changes to the VHLM would not take place until Season 20 before the VHLM was it's own league rather than just a farm league for the VHL. Roman Andreev had a very solid season in Minot with 34 goals and 46 assists for 80 points in 72 games. Minot had a very good season finishing with a record of 44-22-6 for 94 points this was not good enough to make the playoffs as the Brampton Battalion and the Saskatoon Wild had better point totals.

Season 19 - Minot Gladiators

Season 19 Regular Season
S19 - VHLM - MIN - 72 GP | 94 G | 79 A | 173 P | +40 | 59 PIM | 124 H | 842 SH | 41 SB | 13 GWG

Season 19 Playoffs
S19 - VHLM - MIN - 12 GP | 18 G | 3 A | 21 P | +5 | 15 PIM | 19 H | 138 SH | 1 SB | 0 GWG

Andreev was back in the VHLM for Season 19 and boy did that team wreck havoc on the VHLM. Andreev alone scored 94 goals and assisted on 79 goals for 173 points. This wasn't even enough to lead Minot in scoring so that goes to show you what kind of team the Gladiators had in Season 19. Minot made the playoffs quite easily and would play the Saskatoon Wild in a hard fought 7 games series before moving onto the Final against the Kolari Panthers. In a rather anti-climatic series the Gladiators would easily beat Kolari in 5 games to claim the Founders Cup. Roman would score 18 goals and assist on 3 for 21 points in just 12 games. He had a very strong season in the VHLM much like most of the Minot team.

Season 20 - Calgary Wranglers

Season 20 Regular Season
S20 - VHL - CGY - 72 GP | 45 G | 66 A | 111 P | -61 | 11 PIM | 29 H | 430 SH | 33 SB | 5 GWG

Season 20 Playoffs
S20 - VHL - CGY - N/A

After tearing the VHLM a new one in Season 19, Andreev was called up to the Calgary Wranglers for Season 20. Roman had a very strong rookie showing with 45 goals and 66 assists for 111 points in 72 games. Andreev was one of 3 players on the Wranglers to break 100 points, despite this the Wranglers finished 50 points out of a playoff spot in 3rd place in the North American Conference. What sunk the Wranglers this season was lack of a goaltender as Zach Henning allowed 7.43 goals per game.

Season 21 - Calgary Wranglers

Season 21 Regular Season
S21 - VHL - CGY - 72 GP | 47 G | 45 A | 92 P | -5 | 35 PIM | 16 H | 384 SH | 61 SB | 5 GWG

Season 21 Playoffs
S21 - VHL - CGY - N/A

Much like in Season 20, the Calgary Wranglers weren't a very good team. The Wranglers would finish 50 points out of the playoffs again despite improving from the season before. Roman Andreev had another strong season with 47 goals and 45 assists for 92 points. Andreev also had 61 shots blocked which is pretty remarkable for a winger. Andreev again finished 3rd in team scoring this season despite not cracking the 10 point plateau.

Season 22 - Calgary Wranglers

Season 22 Regular Season
S22 - VHL - CGY - 72 GP | 39 G | 42 A | 81 P | +22 | 41 PIM | 58 H | 389 SH | 38 SB | 9 GWG

Season 22 Playoffs
S22 - VHL - CGY - 7 GP | 5 G | 2 A | 7 P | -3 | 0 PIM | 5 H | 29 SH | 2 SB | 1 GWG

After two seasons out of the playoffs, the Wranglers made big strides in the VHL improving by 40 points in the standings while the New York Americans dropped out of the playoff picture finishing 54 points behind Calgary. Roman enjoyed a decent season but for some reason he was getting a little worse each year since his rookie season. He would score 39 goals and assisted on 42 goals for 81 points. Obviously still a very good season but not one we know he is capable of producing.

The Wranglers would play the Toronto Legion in the playoffs. After a hard fought 7 game series the Wranglers would end up on the wrong side of a 4-3 series. In the 7 games, Roman produced 5 goals and assisted on 2 goals for 7 points. Was this a sign of things for next season that he would get better?

Season 23 - Calgary Wranglers

Season 23 Regular Season
S23 - VHL - CGY - 72 GP | 31 G | 36 A | 67 P | +54 | 22 PIM | 35 H | 325 SH | 10 SB | 4 GWG

Season 23 Playoffs
S23 - VHL - CGY - 12 GP | 3 G | 2 A | 5 P | +1 | 2 PIM | 3 H | 47 SH | 3 SB | 1 GWG

After the hardships of Season 20 and Season 21, the Wranglers and Andreev made the playoffs for the first time in Season 22 only to lose to the Toronto Legion in the playoffs. This season, the Wranglers closed the gap between them and the Toronto Legion finishing only 1 point behind them in the standings. Despite this, it would up being a relatively easy series for the Wranglers who took out Toronto in just 5 games. In the finals, Calgary would take on the Helsinki Titans who also finished 2nd in their Conference. After 7 hard fought games the Wranglers won their first Championship since repeating in Season 18 and Season 19.

Roman Andreev had a decent season scoring 31 goals and assisting on 36 goals for 67 points in 72 games. This was the first season in which he didn't produce at a point per game. In the playoffs he put up 3 goals and assisted on 2 goals for 5 points in 12 games. Not his best showing at all. However, he still ended up with Continental Cup under his belt and no one can take that away from him.

Season 24 - Vasteras Iron Eagles

Season 24 Regular Season
S24 - VHL - CGY/VAS - 73 GP | 25 G | 22 A | 47 P | -17 | 12 PIM | 37 H | 280 SH | 10 SB | 6 GWG

Season 24 Playoffs
S24 - VHL - VAS - N/A

Around the trade deadline, Roman was traded from Calgary to the Vasteras Iron Eagles with Jake Steen in exchange for a Season 25 Calgary 2nd Round Pick and a Season 25 Vasteras 2nd Round Pick. These picks turned out to be Alvin Yu and Miroslav Ladic. Pretty even trade all around imo. Vasteras was gearing up for a Cup run in hopes of ending the Vasteras curse which has plagued the franchise since Season 1 when to this point they won their 1st and only Championship. The Iron Ealges wound up missing the playoffs by 8 points in Season 24.

Roman Andreev continued to regress putting up 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points in 73 games. Season 24 was his 7th season after his draft year so Season 25 would be his last.

Season 25 - Vasteras Iron Eagles

Season 25 Regular Season
S25 - VHL - VAS - 72 GP | 38 G | 44 A | 82 P | +43 | 56 PIM | 90 H | 383 SH | 19 SB | 10 GWG

Season 25 Playoffs
S25 - VHL - VAS - 6 GP | 1 G | 0 A | 1 P | 0 | 2 PIM | 12 H | 28 SH | 0 SB | 0 GWG

Entering his final season, the Vasteras franchise was still trying to end the curse and despite regressing to almost 0.5 points per game, Andreev picked it up in Season 25 with 38 goals and 44 assists for 82 points in a full 82 games for Vasteras. He also reached 10 GWG's and was a +43. Vasteras would make the playoffs by over 25 points and finish 1 point behind HC Davos Dynamo who finished 1 point ahead of them.

In the playoffs, Andreev only scored 1 goal in a 6 game series loss to the Dynamo. This marked the end for Andreev as he had reached his 8 season limit.

Roman Andreev had a very solid VHL career with 480 points in 433 games including 1 Continental Cup. He was a very 2nd or 3rd winger but was never the number 1 guy on the team.

@JardyB10 do you remember who Roman Andreev was? if so you should tag him to see if he is still active :P

I don't know if he ever made it to the new site. Also I can't remember his username off hand...it had numbers at the end. Something 17 I wanna say.
