The VHL off-season is in full swing, with this off-season hosting the bi-annual VHL World Cup. Although we have a full schedule of games in the round robin and elimination rounds going on this off-season, we are lucky enough in the VHL to still experience a short off-season, one that should last slightly over a week. In this edition of Veteran Corner, we will look at those veteran players around the league that are heading into their final season with their respective VHL clubs.

:nya:Unassisted (New York Americans): :nya:
Unassisted was a good player before he got to New York, but once he stepped on the ice in the big apple, he became another player. Unassisted joined the Quebec Meute after being selected Second Overall in the Season Forty-Eight VHL Entry Draft, a season in which Unassisted saw his only sub 100 point season in the VHL. Since then the youngster from Richmond Hill has put up six consecutive 100-point seasons, the lowest of which was     106 points back with Calgary in Season Fifty-One. Now with two Continental Cups added to his resume with New York, Unassisted will be looking to head off into the sunset with another cup under his belt this season.

:que:Pavel Komarov (Quebec City Meute): :que:
Komarov helped the Meute reach the Continental Cup Finals last season after being picked up from Davos during the Season Fifty-Three off-season. Once a labelled as a power forward before entering the VHL, Komarov switched to defense to try to help Davos win a Continental Cup, and now he is hoping for another crack at a cup in his final season in the VHL with the Meute in Season Fifty-Five. Komarov had the best season of his career last year with the Meute, putting up five goals and thirty-nine assists, while also keeping true to his defensive roots, with his plus forty-five and 105 shots blocked. With Quebec the likely favourites to represent the North American conference in the VHL finals once again, Komarov might just find that elusive cup this season.

:hel:Black Velvet (Helsinki Titans): :hel:
It is hard to believe that Velvet will end his career in the VHL at the conclusion of Season Fifty-Five. Velvet has done almost everything imaginable during his seven-year career in the VHL to date. From being part of the first three peat champions with the Toronto Legion, to winning a very impressive fourth championship with Helsinki last season, Velvet looks to be on the Hall Of Fame ballot sooner than later. Velvet and the Titans look to be in great position to once again challenge for the Terrance Fong Trophy and head back to the Continental Cup finals for back-to-back seasons. After experiencing his best personal season in Season Fifty-One with the Calgary Wranglers, when he put up 121 points, Velvet has been a consistent eight plus point player in the past three seasons.  Now in his last season in the league, Velvet hopes to cement his place in VHL history by taking home his fifth VHL championship at the conclusion of Season Fifty-Five.
