Reinholdt Traded to Toronto Legion

After a season of rumors that Verner Reinholdt was eager to get out of the Wranglers franchise, the trigger was finally pulled and he was moved to the Toronto Legion for the 5th overall pick in the Season 55 Draft where the Wranglers ended up selecting Jake Scheel. Reinholdt allegedly told GM Travis Gowceny before the draft he had no interest in staying with the Wranglers beyond his three year deal, leaving the GM and Reinholdt's agency with an icy relationship throughout most of Season 54. Both Gowceny and Ryan Power (Reinholdt's agent)  went back and forth in the public eye several times about the direction of the franchise and whether or not the GM had a real plan going forward.

With the 5th overall pick they received in the trade, the Wranglers took Jake Scheel, a winger who will be playing for the Saskatoon Wild this season. Scheel fills a need in the Wranglers prospect system which is a forward. The Wranglers have 3 defensive prospects in their system (Jon Snow, Luca Volkov and 1st overall pick Felix Savard) but were lacking in forward prospects; especially considering they were expected to lose Reinholdt one way or the other.

It seems to benefit both Toronto and Calgary to make this swap, both for wishes of individuals involved and for the organizations.
