Scandinavia takes the Bronze! We did not win gold, but in my opinion the second best way to end a tournament is by winning the bronze game, it´s not so much fun to lose and then having to watch a silver medal years later and think about the missed changes or other mistakes you or someone else made in the final, so that is the reason why I´m more than happy to win bronze home this year especially when you take into consideration how we played during the group stage.

We started off really nicely, won first two games against Europe and World, but then something happened, we lost four games straight and things were not looking too promising. The whole team got together and had a meeting, everybody agreed that things need to change if we want to have succesful tournament.

In the next set of games we went against Scandinavia and Europe, whole team felt different and I think that meeting helped to create that desire to win and we actually did exactly that,  won both Scandinavia and Europe, those two wins brought our record to four wins and four losses, which is pretty decent overall.

Last two games could be described as not good, lost both of the games and that unfortunately meant that we finished fifth in the group stage. Not bad, right? Well, there is some room for improvements for sure when there is only six teams, but in our defense must be said that it did not matter too much since every team made it to the elimination round, so yay!

In the quarter-finals the always so mean Mercenaries tried to kick us, the gentle Scandinavians out of the tournament, but they failed, we moved on to next round to face United States!  All the pressure was on the United States, since they were the favorites to win the game and at times it showed,  Torstein Irondside gave us a change to win by saving 40 shots, but in the end United States managed to secure the win by scoring one goal, end result: 1-0 and our journey continues in the Bronze game and United States head into the finals.

Bronze game was something that everybody wanted to win after a tough tournament and I think team World and their players felt the same, better to end everything in a positive way. The actual game was a close game, both teams had changes to score. Theo Axelsson managed to scored two goals in the first 10 minutes, which helped us a lot. Tough to comeback from that and when Mist4ke was on fire in our end, we managed to keep World behind us and secure victory! Bronze medals are ours!

Now that the tournament is over, we are heading off to Stockholm to celebrate with the people! Traditional market has been booked, we expect to see thousands of hockey and music fans there. Abba cover band will provide entertainment and in typical Scandinavian fashion, there will be sausages and other meaty foods available!
