Jordan De Fabio was drafted by the Helsinki Titans in the Season 18 VHL Entry Draft with the 11th pick in the 2nd round. This pick was acquired from the New York Americans in the Season 16 off-season via trade. Matt Bailey and a Season 18 Davos 2nd Round Pick (Aiden Shaw) were traded to New York for Edward Eldred, a Season 17 Helsinki 1st (Syd Drayson) and a Season 18 New York 2nd (Jordan De Fabio)

After being drafted, the Titans sent him back to the VHLM where Jordan would end up leading the Kolari Panthers in points with 111 (50/61). Kolari would make the playoffs by 19 points and would play the 1st ranked Gothenburg Eagles in the 1st round. In what should have been a fairly even match, the Eagles won the series in just 5 games. Jordan scored 3 goals and assisted on 6 goals for 9 points in 5 games. The loss wasn't his fault as he tried.

Jordan was called in Season 19 and would start his VHL career with the Helsinki Titans. Jordan would score 20 goals and assisted on 53 goals for 73 points in his rookie campaign. It was a very nice start to Jordan's career as being a point per game player as a defenseman is always a huge plus. Helsinki though, finished 25 points out of the last playoff spot.

Jordan continued to improve into Season 20 and avoided the sophomore slump which seems to plague some players. Jordan scored 29 goals and assisted on 53 goals for 82 points. The Titans on the other hand regressed to finishing 34 points out of a playoff spot. It was a tough campaign team wise but Jordan just had his best season.

In Season 21, Jordan hit a wall that many expected to happen in Season 20. Jordan finished with 6 goals and 26 assists for 32 points which is less than half of what he put up in his rookie season much less in Season 20. The Titans on the other hand improved to 86 points which was tied with Davos for the last playoff spot. Due to a tiebreaker though, the Dynamo secured the last spot.

REVIEW:

As I just said, another nice article sharing the story of a lesser known VHL player. De Fabio's career really seemed to be unspectacular, especially with his early retirement. Kind of funny his total VHLM points almost equal his VHL points in 2 less seasons.
