Tagger 2,722
Ky finally set to enter the VHL Draft after disappointing VHLM Career With the 55th VHLM Season in the books, Aackckqz Ky (who will be over the 200 TPE limit for the VHLM by the deadline) will now be leaving behind the world of amateur hockey to make his way onto the professional scene. While Ky has one of the better TPE levels coming into the Season 56 Draft, questions were raised as to how his unique skillset would fare in the VHL and, looking at his VHLM performance where he ranked only ninth in points for defensemen despite playing on a free-scoring Storm team, those questions seem to have been answered, but not with the answer Ky was looking for. With Ky also missing out on the Founders Cup trophy after the Storm were surprised by the Las Vegas Aces in the semi-finals, this marks another VHLM trophy-less season for those under the agency of Ron Dayne, as none of the Encarnacion trilogy managed to secure the trophy in their five attempts in addition to Ky's two. One thing that Ky is happy about is that as opposed to Threencarnac, who some people were not aware was a career backup goalie until right before the draft, it seems quite a few VHL GMs are already well aware that Ky is someone who will be making decisions completely at random. Threencarnac falls apart against Helsinki Coming into the playoffs after an incredible regular season, no-one would fault Edwi Threencarnac for anticipating more of the same kind of performances in the playoffs. However, despite having some decent games against the Vikings, Threencarnac went on to have a poor semi-final showing, putting up a sub .900 save percentage in two of his three starts. It will be interesting to see after his sub-standard playoff record whether Threencarnac will be given the same amount of opportunities during the Season 56 playoffs or if Mist4ke, who had a far more productive playoffs, will be asked to start more games for the Dynamo. Aces shock the Storm, swept in Final, looking forward to future Not many people were willing to give the Las Vegas Aces a chance of winning in the lead-up to their semi-final matchup, with one media article in particular citing that the semi-final was likely to be an "absolute slaughter". However, Vegas as it turned out had no intention of going home without reaching the final for a second consecutive season after they upset the Storm in a 4-3 series victory. Unfortunately their stay in the final was a brief one as, despite taking the Saskatoon Wild to overtime in two games, they were swept in the final. Things are looking good for the Aces though heading into next season as they have both the third and the fourth overall selection in the S56 VHLM Draft, which is shaping up to be a very solid draft class.
