Tyler 885
The European Conference is going to be wide open this year at the top. The two time champs are looking as good as ever, Davos is progressively getting stronger and is likely to make a real challenge at the top spot. Riga have turned around their fortunes with this off season while Cologne and Stockholm seem stuck near the bottom. Here is my early standing predictions for the upcoming season. 1. Helsinki Titans - Typical but sadly the Titans don't look like they're on the down swing and if anything they got better this season. They will enter the season as the favourite to win the Continental Cup. 2. HC Davos Dynamo - I could have gone with Riga this year but I think most would agree Davos are the favourites to finish second and get home ice in the first round. They remain a relatively young team and added Motherfucking Sharpe and Lee King Snatch in the off season, two key veteran players who still have years left to give. 3. Riga Reign - The big movers of the off season, to me it will matter how well the team jells. They added players from all over the league but mostly from the New York Americans which means they should fit in well together. If some of their players graduating can step up they could compete for second place. 4. Stockholm Vikings - They don't have a lot to play with but they do have two very good players, including a goalie, on their roster which should garner them a few more wins then Cologne. 5. Cologne Express - Meh. A few suspect moves puts the German team well behind the pack and with little of a future to speak of. They have to hope for a few stars with their upcoming draft picks or they will be in the hole for a long time.
