I actually don't mind the psychedelic look to the render, it's a pretty cool look and very creative. I do think that the BG needs to be different, more smooth, if that's the path you want to take with it though. Right now it's a bit disjointed, with 2 different styles converging, and no real bridge between them. Some blending effects to tie this all together would definitely go a long way.
