The 4 and 5 would almost certainly get blown out, but if there are any actives on these teams (and there is a reasonable chance of that, if a new player is created and signs with them either after the deadline or in such a scenario as a competitive team can't put together a deal) they'd get a brief taste of the playoffs. Obviously not in the VHL, since that league is more about the actual winning, but in the VHLM it can't hurt to give new guys something to get excited about. Maybe a 4 vs 5 series (even a shortened series, 5 games or so) to play into a matchup with the 1 seed while the 2 and 3 fight it out.
