Smarch 3,210
Joey Boots Ready To Shine The Victory Hockey League picked up one more prospect Thursday morning when the Smarch agency announced they would be representing a new client for the next VHL Entry Draft. That youngsters name is Joseph Bassolino who hails from the tough streets of The Bronx. Bassolino has been a long-time admirer of the VHL but until recently, he never showed up on the leagues radar. Many fans of the VHL have been looking over interwebs to find out who this Bassolino really is, but outside or rumors, it seems that not much is known about the eighteen year old from the good old United States of America. It appears that to date Bassolino has no professional experience-playing hockey, something that have many fans wondering why he even put ink to paper to join the Season Fifty-Nine VHL Entry Draft. The Victory Hockey League has long been known as the league that will allow any person in the world a place to display their hockey skills, no matter how large or small that skills-set might be. Outside playing house league hockey and now recreation league hockey in New York, Bassolino has been a season ticket holder of the New York Americans for the past fourteen seasons. That is correct; Bassolino has been in the stands watching the greats Edwin Reencarnacion, Thomas O’Malley, and Biggu Kyanon. One of the main reasons that Bassolino wears the number sixty-six on his back has to do with Americans history. The Bassolino family were inaugural season ticket holders when the team moved from Hamilton to New York and have attended home games at the Garden ever since. One player that caught the eye of Joeys’ parents was Victory Hockey League Hall of Fame inductee, Tom Slaughter. Slaughter of course was one of, if not the best, center to ever lace up the skates for the Americans. Slaughter was a dominant force on the ice, while also being the face of the franchise off the ice as well, something that the Bassolino family admired. Now that Joseph has declared himself eligible for the upcoming VHL Entry Draft, he and his entire family can only hope he becomes half the VHL player for one of the eight VHL organizations like Slaughter was for the Americans. Bassolino will be assigned to the VHLM for Season Fifty-Eight, as he currently awaits putting ink to paper on a VHLM deal. It is likely that Bassolino will sign with the Yukon Rush, as the owner of the Smarch agency and VHL Hall Of Fame defenseman Conner Low was hired as General Manager just over a week ago. Bassolino will be a nice addition to the young Rush roster, who look to be a few roster moves away from competing this season. With the Rush in the middle of a twenty year Founders Cup drought Bassolino and the Rush will have a uphill challenge in front of them again this season, as with recent VHLM contraction all five VHLM teams are usually competitive each season.
