Pajari Relishes Rookie Season, Future with Riga

As the Riga Reign were eliminated in the wildcard of the playoffs against the Seattle Bears, Mikka Pajari's rookie season finally came to an end. The S61 draftee is still no doubt behind a lot of players in his draft class TPE wise, and even players in the upcoming draft class are close to him. He only sits currently at 250 TPE. But Mikka was overall happy with his season. He was able to join the big league and prove he could at least play in the VHL at a depth level. He only potted 43 points, which in a crazy offensive season for most players would be considered relatively low. But Pajari entered the season under 200 TPE, and considering he is a 3rd round pick....there is more than a high chance the Reign were able to steal a gem late in the draft. Mikka has said he feels settled in Riga now, and happy. If it was up to him he'd play the rest of his career with the Reign. With the team just coming out of upswing and having a nice core, Pajari hopes to settle in nicely as a second line player during his career with the Reign. But obviously not all things are up to Pajari, and there is a chance Riga could trade him or move on from his services if his output doesn't improve.

 

Pajari has said he remains steady though, his goal is to hit 300 TPE before the start of season 63, as he wants to really begin to push the stages towards getting himself up to speed as a regular VHL player. Riga coaching staff says they expect a much better Season 63 out of Pajari, as they really feel he was making more strides as he got comfortable with play at the VHL level near the end of the season, and in the Wildcard playoffs.
