jRuutu 2,464
Hard work, dedication, and leadership, those are just some words you can use to describe a player who just got nominated to be one of the captains in a sports team, but when you are talking about me, I got my letter purely because of my good looks. That is correct, not a secret that I´m one of the best-looking centers drafted in the first round of s62 draft, mountain for a jaw and almost silky mustache makes me a favorite in the eyes of both men and women. Somebody might be wondering what kind of letter I got? I´m happy to announce that it´s the big one, letter C! I´m going to be the captain for Quebec Meute from now. Real honor if I´m honest, a lot of great players have been captains in Quebec in the past and now the name Rauno Palo is added to that list, great feeling. Not so long ago I was still playing in Finland and look at me now, captain of a professional hockey team in the toughest league in the world. Getting letter added to the front of my jersey was not something I was expecting to happen when I got drafted to Quebec few seasons ago, but I have tried to keep on improving steadily and keep pushing forward, that work has now paid off in a big way and it´s up to me to keep on doing the day to day work at the same level and try to lead by example, hopefully, I´m able to make Quebec and fans of Quebec proud. Speaking of leading by example, I think that is perfect way to describe what kind of captain I will be, despite my borderline erotic face and looks, I´m not that outgoing and vocal as a person, I will let my performance on the ice and overall professionalism from how I prepare to games and practice do most of the talking, If I do my part and even more, all the guys in the team will always give their all for the team and logo, that is all you can ask for. One area of being a captain that I´m bit worried about is the media part with all the interviews, I need to do a lot more of them than before, I had to do a decent amount last year due to being a rookie and a first round pick, but just by watching the captains last year, I´m willing to bet I have to answer at least five times more questions as a captain. I have to be real careful on what words I use and how I answer to the questions, sometimes what I think is funny is not so funny to rest of the world, if I say the wrong thing, going to get in trouble with the media and we all know how well that goes. Then the league steps in and before you know it, I´m suspended and have to pay thousands of dollars in fines. I´m sure I get the hang of it, but I kinda want to show my personality a little bit here and there, not always the typical mr. nice guy captain answers to everything, just finding the right balance is going to be hard at first, but either way - I´m excited about the future and looking forward to seeing what we can do as a team!
