Top Brand Sponsorship Contracts

As we enter the end of the season, we look towards the Brand Sponshorship tournament in the off-season. It's theme week for the Brand tournament which has brought out a lot of takes, hot and otherwise. Most Brands have signed the majority of their contracts, with the odd lower tier contract spot left hanging. Of course there are also some non money spots for teams to fill out their rosters. For the most part however, the signing period is nearing it's end. With that, I thought it'd be worthwhile to give props to two of the top contracts signed by each Brand.

Haterade

Kronos Bailey for S63-S65 @ $1,000,000

Rauno Palo for S63-S67 @ $750,000

Hard to go with any other selections here. Most may note how Haterade picked up notable VHL offensive star Podrick Cast, or perhaps star winger Matt Thompson. But Hatrade only locked up 3 players for more than one Sponsorship Shield Tournament, and other than Bailey and Palo, it was Cayden Saint. While I don't want to undersell Bailey, the S64 GM player for the Helsinki Titans who will be a member of Haterade for two tournaments, and by the time the Season 65 tournament happens, he'll likely be a peaking young star. But, look at the contract for Rauno Palo. 3 guaranteed tournaments for a player already nearing the 600 TPA mark. Haterade locks him up for every eligible tournament, with Palo set to be taken a prime offensive stage and likely being one of the top players in the league by the time Haterade plays again in Season 65. With Palo and Bailey locked up, Haterade has built center first with two very smart contracts.

Jolt Juice

Ryan Kastelic for S63-S66 @ $1,500,000

The Charm for S63-S65 @ $500,000

While Jolt Juice couldn't nab Kastelic for that extra season, ensuring tournament eligibility they were still able to lock up the highly touted D prospect for two tournaments. Kastelic figures to be one of the top d available when the team suits up in Season 65, and already is a noticeable player on the ice for S63. While it is the second highest you can give, paying for a top player is sometimes what you got to do and they did so in this situation. Pairing that with a fantastic veteran snab, Jolt Juice was able to nab The Charm for next to nothing. While the aging player will be in his second last season during the S65 tournament, wasting a lower tier money slot on a player nearing over 700 TPA is exactly how you win tournaments like this. Jolt Juice secured a top center for cheap and a growing young superstar D for only $2,000,000 for two tournaments. Not bad signings at all.

NETFLEX

Leph Twinger for S63-S65 @ $1,250,000

Scott Shawinganen for S63-S65 @ $500,000

NETFLEX had a ton of interesting signings, most notably stacking up high paying slots on a couple of goalies. Good goalies mind you, but still. It's a good thing their management team was able to snag the offensive players needed to round out the roster for cheaper slots. Twinger is near 600 TPE and getting him for two tournaments for less than a two million slot is the definition of clutch. Shawinganen is just a straight up steal, and perhaps the member went under the radar. While he may appear a welfare member on the surface, the consistency of Shawn is what remains impressive, as the member rounds out the roster and will likely provide clutch depth scoring for a very cheap slot for two tournaments. By the time 65 comes around Shawn could be a 450+ TPE player, whilst eating that low of a slot.

True North Gear

Dan Wilinsky for S63-S65 @ $1,000,000

Ryuu Crimson for S63-S65 @ $250,000

True North have built an interesting team, but their biggest strength is probably going to be a mix of depth and having players signed for at least two tournaments. These two contracts have the potential to be the most underrated though, as they were able to lock up two players who are likely to each play pivotal wing roles in the clubs top six forward group for smaller contract spots. Wilinssky is no slouch in his own right, nearing 350 TPE with Crimson being a huge steal. Crimson has over 450 TPE already. If True North can find the forward chemistry with signings like these, they will be a tough team to keep off the scoreboard with every line.

Ubuyalot Games

Jasper Canmore for S63-S65 @ $3,000,000

Lew Bronstein for S63-S65 @ $500,000

It isn't often that you'll find the one top spot handed out to be one of the teams top contracts. But given the make up of Ubuyalot of games, who have only committed three players thus far to multiple tournament contracts, Canmore will likely wind up as one of the most pivotal players on the roster for the next two tournaments. This is a team that generally skewed a little older, with a plan to slot Brick Wahl in as starter after losing Norrs Stopko upon the completion of the S63 tournament. Obviously in terms of TPE Canmore is well worth it, currently over 1200 Canmore is one of the biggest stars in the VHL and will be right up until retirement. Using Canmore as the anchor point to build from and convince more players to join up post Season 65 is likely the play here. Bronstein is an underrated depth signing that should ideally shore up the bottom part of the defense for both seasons. When building teams in this tournament signings should often reflect the stability needed at specific positions, and both these signings do that just fine. Giving star power to a forward core, and leaving room for defensive growth as required with the stability of a player like Bronstein on the back end.

Viking

Roger Sterling S63-S65 @ $1,250,000

Shawn Glade S63-S65 @ $750,000

Wow. Just wow did Viking ever make out like bandits for the first round of contract signings. A overly stacked team, Viking has pretty much set the entire team up for more than just one tournament. Instead of opting to have even a handful of players signed for two tournaments, 13 of the teams 15 for salary contracts are signed through S65. As such it basically came to to value finding at that point. Roger Sterling is the easiest choice, and might even be the best contract signed period, from a value perspective for all teams. With over 550 TPE, Sterling is the obvious goalie candidate to take the helm as "best" when Stopko retires. To nail one of the top starters for both tournaments with that low of a contract slot could play huge for Viking. But they also managed to sneak in underrated Riga defender Shawn Glade, currently sitting at 393 TPE in one of the 8 slots under $1,000,000. Those slots will be crucial to see who is going to build the better teams, and with Glade being a top pairing D in a tournament like this, grabbing that kind of player with a bottom half slot are the steals that could determine winning teams.
