Cologne Presents New GM

The Cologne Express' search for a new GM is over. After long-time GM Joey Kendrick had stepped down from his position following the teams first round loss against the Helsinki Titans the owners decided to promote from within and name former Assistant GM Alexander Schneider the teams new General Manager. Schneider joined the Express' front office just about half a season ago, so him taking over as Head GM already came as a surprise to many fans who expected a more experienced candidate from outside of the organisation to take over. For league insiders the move was less of a surprise though, it was already an open secret among executives and other GMs that the Express would be looking for an internal solution and Schneider was the most likely candidate within the organisation, who in hindsight was probably already brought in with this scenario in mind midway through the season, and was groomed as Kendricks replacement since then. A press conference with Schneider will be held soon, so far he has only released the following statement:

"Im very excited and incredibly grateful to get this opportunity and I want to thank the whole Express organisation and especially Joey Kendrick for trusting me with this new position. I know the next few days will be very busy with the Draft and Free Agency already around the corner, but I'm enthusiastic to get started and can't wait to start working with the great team we have here any maybe welcome some new players as well very soon."
