The expansion Moscow Menace will select their first roster after the end of the S64 playoffs. This means there will be some big decisions for GMs as to who to protect in the expansion draft.

For the New York Americans, we can only speculate who will be left available to Moscow.

With the GM player automatically protected, goalie Ismond Kingfisher will be safe. Some of the other 7 players could be defenders Joseph McWolf and Ryan Sullivan Jr. Up front Roctrion King, Dan Wilinsky, Ryan Zabby and Joel Ylonen should be easy decisions.

With 6 easy selections complete, there is 1 current roster player and 4 prospects still to choose through. While Scott Shawinganen has over 300 tpe, he disappears for long stretches of time and after drafting 2 centers in the past draft, he will be passed on the depth chart sooner than later.

Defenseman Eric Parker and winger Matthew Materazo would probably be the two most sought after youngsters, with Anton Edvin and Steven Hitz likely both needing another year of seasoning in the VHLM.

Parker currently has more tpe and being a defender, holds value that way, with New York only carrying 2 defensemen so far. Materazo is a new member, but has been more aggressive and consistent gaining tpe during his career.

For my money, I'd protect Materazo in hopes that Moscow selects the more experienced Shawinganen, who has put up very good numbers so far in his career.
